Many state maintained hiking and mountain climbing trails off RT 182 within 10 miles of camp. This camp offers 2 kayaks and life jackets for the guests as well as a 16 ft canoe. New dock and deck installed spring of 2021. Georges Pond is one of the most popular fishing destinations in downeast, Maine. Fishing rods and small tackle box are provided for our guests. One mile to a public boat launch. We have designated the power to the camp to be provided by Maine Community Solar Power Grid. All handsoap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided by Ginger Lily Farms Botanicals. Newly added bedroom and attached bath with washer and dryer. Enjoy a Bar-B-Que on the back deck or maybe that "must do" lobster bake. Enjoy the evening around the fire pit or hang your feet off the dock. The bus will stop at any safe location along its route across all of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.The house is easy access to the following as well: just over one mile from downtown Southwest Harbor, less than one mile from Cable Crossing Road, less than two miles to Seawall Picnic Area and Beach, three miles to the oceanfront, family friendly hikes of Wonderland and Ship Harbor, and approximately four miles to Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Bedrooms are cozy with Skylight windows in the lower part of gambrel roof, giving excellent water views.The boat house outside has life jackets and paddles for the kayaks as well as a long, knotted rope to use to ease the kayaks up and down the slide (next to the stairway to the water). There is a gas grill with two gas tanks, and a backup charcoal grill. A portable wooden ramp is there to help move the grill in and out of the boat house.
