Many state maintained hiking and mountain climbing trails off RT 182 within 10 miles of camp. This camp offers 2 kayaks and life jackets for the guests as well as a 16 ft canoe. New dock and deck installed spring of 2021. Georges Pond is one of the most popular fishing destinations in downeast, Maine. Fishing rods and small tackle box are provided for our guests. One mile to a public boat launch. We have designated the power to the camp to be provided by Maine Community Solar Power Grid. All handsoap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided by Ginger Lily Farms Botanicals. Newly added bedroom and attached bath with washer and dryer. There is a shower with adjustable shower head, and the linen cabinets are fully stocked with towels and washcloths.As you walk up the stairs (with carpeted runners), you will come to a landing with large windows to the southeast and southwest. The upstairs has a cathedral ceiling with a ceiling fan and track lighting that can be dimmed for a tranquil ambiance. There is a large, high triangle window in the main upstairs facing southeast to let in plenty of early morning light.The main room upstairs is partitioned into a sitting area with a pull-out sleep sofa and an "office/playroom" with an oak rolltop desk and shelf with games/toys. Bedrooms are cozy with Skylight windows in the lower part of gambrel roof, giving excellent water views.The boat house outside has life jackets and paddles for the kayaks as well as a long, knotted rope to use to ease the kayaks up and down the slide (next to the stairway to the water). There is a gas grill with two gas tanks, and a backup charcoal grill. A portable wooden ramp is there to help move the grill in and out of the boat house. A cozy authentic Maine camp on Spectacle Pond in Osborn that sits among the hemlock in trees near the waters edge. Enjoy beautiful sunsets, camp fires, swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Relax on the screen porch at night while listening to the loons. Adventure outside the camp to a public sand beach, accessible by foot at the very end of Hemlock Way or enjoy a longer walk to a nearby river. ATV trails are also conveniently located. This camp features one bedroom with its own deck and a sleeping loft, accommodating up to 5 guests. Although off-grid, there is a gas powered generator to supply water for the bathroom and kitchen. Generator will also power the electric coffee maker and lights. The kitchen is fully functional with a gas refrigerator & gas range that do not require the use of the generator. Kitchen is stocked with basic kitchen supplies. Guest are required to bring their own drinking water. Spec Pond (as the locals call it) is 16 miles from Amherst, where you will find the Amherst General Store, Airline Brewing Company and other local businesses. This camp is approximately 40 miles east of Bangor, 38 miles from Ellsworth and 58 miles from Bar Harbor. Available with rental are, 2 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, a canoe, and a paddle boat. Life jackets are provided but guests are encouraged to bring their own for proper fitting.
