Whether you’re enjoying coffee overlooking the lake, a glass of wine on the deck as kayakers glide past or watching the sea gulls in the afternoon, there’s nothing more relaxing. This is a 1 bed, 1 bath cabin with a full bed and small kitchen with basic necessities. There’s dining table with chairs and 2 comfortable chairs for relaxing. Outside there’s a deck with a table and chairs, along with a charcoal grill. The steps take you down to the cobblestone beach where you can search for agates or read a book. An evening campfire on the shore gazing at the stars is the perfect way to end the day. This is a great rental combination with Superior Reflections 1 and 3 to relax and enjoy the beautiful north woods. Across the highway is the Gitchi Gami bike trail. Temperance River State Park is practically in our backyard with miles of hiking trails and beautiful waterfalls. Nearby you will find Cross River, Father Baraga’s Cross, and the Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center. The Schroeder Bakery is a great place to start your day with a coffee, breakfast sandwiches and bakery. After a day of hiking you could stop for a malt or pizza. This is a seasonal cabin open May through October. Pets are welcome with prior approval and an additional fee, 2 pet maximum. Due to the location on the shore and season, water may taste salty. We provide drinking water for you.We provide towels, linens and soaps. Can’t decide between a cabin on the lake or a cabin in the woods? Superior Reflections #3 is the best of both worlds. This is the perfect place to get away from it all (NO WIFI) on a peaceful plot of land overlooking Lake Superior. Access to the cobblestone shore of the lake is a short walk (about 300 feet) down the gravel driveway. While not directly on Lake Superior, you are nestled amongst the trees in a quiet and peaceful setting. This is a great rental combination with Superior Reflections 1 and 2 to relax and enjoy the beautiful north woods.

This 2-bedroom, 1 bath cabin has a full bed in each room. The main room includes a kitchen with the basic necessities, and a couch and 2 chairs and a TV for the DVD player and HDMI input for watching movies. The TV is not connected with an antenna or satellite, and is just for DVD viewing. The bathroom has a shower and a view of the woods. There’s a cozy porch with a table and chairs to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and look out at Lake Superior. It’s the perfect spot to watch for Ore boats off in the distance. Outside there’s a picnic table and charcoal grill.

Not only one of the most unique lodging options you will find along Lake Superior's North Shore or near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the Superior Hiking Trail, but an absolutely one-of-a-kind experience! Our Tiny Tuloon Cabin was hand crafted by our Amish friends in southwestern, Minnesota and has a beautiful pine log interior, pine floors and a pine vaulted ceiling. My Mom provides all of the handmade quilts and my Dad contributed the wood turned items - it's a family affair!

There is a matching spacious log outhouse just down the short driveway from the cabin. We have received 5 stars for the outhouse!

Due to multiple safety requirements associated with a propane powered, off-grid cabin, The Tiny Tuloon Cabin at Points Unknown is not suitable for young children. Older children must be attended by an adult at all times and not left to wander.

Parking is next to the cabin after winter break up and before the first big snow. During winter months, you will park near our homestead and use a sled to snowshoe your things to the cabin. It is a short distance. Sleds and snowshoes are provided, if needed.

We LOVE pets and animals in general, but because we have sled dogs, you will need to leave your pets at home.

Amenities:

*Perfect for a couple or two friends and can also accommodate a third person. 1 double futon couch/bed below a twin log bunkbed.

*Full kitchenette with a small propane stove/oven, small insulated "icebox" to keep food cold (bring ice packs and not loose ice) and sink with a water jug and bucket below.

*Pillows & bedding included. Please bring your own towels/washcloths for sponge baths. If staying for 5+ nights, a shower in the main house is included. Otherwise, there is no shower access.

*Shared Amish-built outhouse close to cabin

*A small propane grill can be checked out from the main homestead

*The Kitchen is fully stocked with eating utensils, plates and cookware. A French press for coffee brewing is available. There is a tea kettle.

*Included in your stay is time spent with and learning about our sled dogs. You're welcome to schedule times to come out with us when we feed the dogs or visit them during their playgroups. You are also invited to tour the beeswax candle workshop.

*Don't forget to check out the Homestead Store in the main homestead along with the Scent from Nature Pure Beeswax Candle workshop.

The Tiny Tuloon Cabin allows you to participate fully in our lifestyle with traditional sled dogs. The cabin is just a short wander from the main, modern and comfy off-grid homestead. If you book a stay of 5+ nights, a shower in the main house is included. Otherwise, you can heat up water or melt snow in the winter for a sponge bath. The matching log outhouse has an amazingly warm seat and is shared with of our Points Unknown staff members.

Join us for a dog sledding experience, a Mindful Paddle or hike, a River Canyon Snow Trek or Wild Wander by day. Gaze at our ever-changing sky. From the screen porch, you will catch some beautiful sunrises and you may even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing overhead. The pool and hot tub are managed and maintained by the resort’s Homeowners Association (HOA), not by us as the hosts. Their hours, maintenance schedule, and availability are outside of our control. From time to time, these amenities may close without notice for maintenance, repairs, weather, or HOA decisions. While we hope you are able to enjoy them, availability cannot be guaranteed, and refunds or credits are not provided if they are unavailable.

Registration & Check-In:
After booking, all guests are required to complete a rental agreement/short registration form before check-in instructions can be provided.

Weather Policy:

GREAT VALUE AND AMMENITIES. Very nice yet economical, efficiency (no bedroom) condominium with adjacent kitchen and bath next to the Bridge Run ski hill in the Lutsen Mountain Condo Building A. In Winter: numerous chair lifts and gondola to wonderful challenging and beginner ski runs. In Summer: hike the Superior Hiking Trail, fish dozens of lakes and streams, golf Superior National Course, swim in beautiful outdoor and indoor pools, tennis courts, bike trails. Spectacular North Shore of Lake Superior hiking, cross-country skiing, fabulous mountain biking, fishing, and countless other activities listed. Quiet, non-barking dogs allowed. Pet fee is additional $30 per stay.

Condominium is small, not fancy but nice with North Woods motif including soft, overstuffed, comfy, wildlife print sofa, rug and rustic pine-log lounge chair. Sleeps two with full-size Murphy bed. For 3, sleep on couch, for 4, will be a bit tight, but I am now providing a queen size air mattress with AC pump. Complete modern kitchen with appliances: stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, tea pot etc. Towels, linens. all kitchen utensils and dinnerware included. Deck overlooks pool and play area and includes two comfortable adirondack chairs. Cable tv and wi-fi are included.

Other amenities include both outdoor (Summer) and indoor heated pools, large Jacuzzi tub, and work-out room.

Great restaurants and shopping on the premises and at Grand Marais only 19 miles north where the famous Gunflint Trail takes you to the northern reaches of Minnesota and access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.
