Saknad skyltning gör det lite svårt att hitta hotellet till en början. Även om vi hade betalat för ett större rum hade rummet knappt gångutrymme. Det fanns ingen bagageförvaring eller skåp. Toalettrummet och rumsgolvet var inte städade. Personalen å andra sidan är mycket vänlig och villig att hjälpa till med alla frågor - om lokala resor, sevärdheter, vegetarisk mat etc. De hittar ett sätt att hjälpa till på bästa sätt. Sammantaget var det en bra upplevelse och det hade varit bättre med några justeringar."

My feet were practically worn out after exploring Datong for a few days, so I didn't get a chance to try the local *daoxiao mian* (knife-cut noodles) outside, but the ones served at the hotel for breakfast were excellent. The hotel also has a restaurant with good food. On my last day, I was rushing to catch my high-speed train and didn't have time to eat, but they were kind enough to pack a meal for me. Very satisfied!"

"Wyndham Grand Hotel Datong 1. The hotel's facilities are top-notch. 2. I experienced both the 'Forest Realm' and 'Memphis' room types, and both were absolutely perfect. The rooms are spacious, and the toiletries are L'Occitane. My children loved it so much that they didn't want to leave the room, preferring to play inside all day. 3. A special shout-out to the room attendant, Li Yuxi. She is incredibly kind and nice, and her work is meticulous and thoughtful. 4. The lobby staff were also very patient. Downsides: The breakfast was genuinely very crowded and quite chaotic. The restaurant staff, from the noodle station attendant to those handling dish collection, were frankly not professional enough. It felt completely out of sync with the service philosophy expected of a five-star hotel's software configuration. With so many diners, it was noisy and messy, almost like a free-for-all."

"First off, the location is great! In the center of the ancient city, but at night we don’t hear the crowds outside! The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. I am traveling with 7 family members and they all had an amazing time. The rooms were extremely clean and the hosts were hospitable. When we needed ice packs, cold water, they delivered them and gave us some to go. The courtyard in the center was beautiful, with birds, fish, peacocks. Everyday we enjoyed tea and fresh fruit!"
