Hotel Porto Plaza Beach Resort ★★★★

"This hotel, which presents itself as a 4* and is offered by DERTOUR, can be fully recommended. We cannot agree in principle with some reviews that the gastronomic services provided are not up to standard. Food is plentiful and varies slightly throughout the stay. The menu is implemented in the form of a buffet and everyone can choose here according to taste in any quantity. The service is very friendly. The criticism of the lack of cutlery, glassware and china is also not true. From drinks, there are jugs of white and red wine, cans of beer, a barrel of water, cola and orange juice, and coffee for breakfast. For some, it may evoke a school cafeteria, but they've probably never experienced the real thing. It is a soft all inclusive and therefore, only certain drinks such as beer, wine and soft drinks are included in the price. The accommodation is modern rooms equipped in standard hotel style with a small fridge, safe, kettle, hairdryer and a bathtub in the bathroom, which is not usual in 4* hotels in the Czech Republic. Each room has its own balcony overlooking the sea. The only minor problem is the access to the hotel, as it is located on a hill, which the bus is not able to handle after the driveway and therefore stops on the road about 100 m below the hotel. Most of the hotels and bungalows here are located in the hills. The island is quite mountainous, so the limitation of access to the reception is to be expected. The beach here is small with only two rows of umbrellas and sunbeds (they are free, or for a frappé), but it is not fully occupied and the sea ... amazing...."

"Vi stannade i ett av husen i byn Varos tillhörande hotellet; våra rum var mycket bekväma och öppnade på en glädjegård med vackra blommor och citronträd. Vi njöt av hotellpoolen och avslappnade på solsängarna och älskade frukosterna!Lokala produkter och lokala specialiteter i överflöd; frukost var en utbildning på grekiska, särskilt Lemnos, traditioner och en fest. All personal var charmig, vänlig och hjälpsam och kunde inte göra tillräckligt för att ta emot oss, inklusive att dela utmärkta restaurangrekommendationer. Ön Lemnos har mycket att erbjuda - vackra oförstörda stränder med tydligt turkisvatten, arkeologiska platser, vackra byar och underbar mat!"

"Vi tillbringade en vacker 2-natt på detta hotell i en Windmill Suite.Bra läge ... mitt på ön ... lätt 20-minuters bilresa från Myrina Port och 5-minuters till flygplatsen.Rummet var mycket rymligt, rent och bekvämt. Maria vid check-in var glad och förklarade hur saker och ting gick på denna mycket höga kvalitetsresort.Den traditionella grekiska frukostbuffet vid poolen var utmärkt och middag varje kväll på poolkaféet var läckra och mycket rimligt prissatt. Personalen i middagsområdet är mycket vänliga och de har en utmärkt kock.Med tanke på platsen måste du hyra en bil, men allt är omkring en 20-30-minuters körning från resorten... massor av spektakulära utsikter och historiska platser att besöka. Stränderna här är sandiga, så simning är också en trevlig upplevelse.Om du väljer att stanna lagt, poolen här är stor, massor av solrummor och träningsrum dricker och matservice poolside.....mycket trevligt. Du skulle vara svårt att behaga om du inte njöt av din vistelse här.Högt rekommenderat"

"This was our second time staying at Lemnos with Mark Warner and the reason we returned for a second time was how great the first stay was. Unfortunately our recent stay didn't live up to the first visit two years prior. It was glaringly obvious from the moment we arrived that they were short staffed and we were told at the introductions that because of this some of the activities that were advertised as part of the holiday would no longer be on offer. We were told on several occasions by the staff to "bear with us" as they informed us of missing staff or cancelled activities. Activities that were slimmed down or cancelled included; tennis lessons, limited cycling tours, all introductory water front activities. As a family with little sailing experience we were hoping to get up and running with the introductions and initial lessons that were on offer the previous time we stayed as we didn't feel comfortable just jumping in a boat and figuring it out, especially with challenging wind conditions on the first few days. Part of the appeal of a Mark Warner holiday is having the guidance and tuition available to get you on the water even as a beginner. While the staff tried their best given the circumstances it was clear they didn't have enough staff available to encourage beginners on the water and to give them the help and guidance they needed. What compounded the frustration was the arrival of the missing staff members on the Thursday, the day before we were due to leave. They began putting up boards with information of all the classes and inductions that would be available the following week. Mark Warner chooses to raise their prices during the May half term comparable with prices during peak summer season while those that can travel the following week will get the same holiday at half the price but with twice the facilities and opportunities available. For our family this kind of holiday is a real treat and one we have to save and work hard for, it's not something that we can do every year and we had think very hard as to whether we could afford it this year. I feel like we wasted our money and didn't get the experience we had saved so hard for. The final letdown is the complete silence from the Mark Warner customer services team who haven't replied to any emails to address the above issues. Complete lack of customer service."
