If you are looking for the luxury of a 5-star hotel, look elsewhere. The priority here is the atmosphere, maximum cleanliness, the effort to fulfill every wish of the guest. "I tysta trädgårdar på utkanten av Matila är denna lilla lägenhetskomplex idealisk för en fredlig vistelse.Rummet är vackert utrustat med en modell duschrum, TV och kylskåp.Det finns en liten balkong över att titta på trädgården. Det finns en riktigt vacker pool för gäster.Vi kunde parkera vår hyresbil nära boendet och gå in i stan om ca 15 minuter."

"Excellent place with a friendly and very helpful host. The kitchen is clean, well-equipped, and there’s plenty of space throughout the hostel. I especially enjoyed the pool. Overall, I highly recommend this place. The only thing I missed was a bit more social atmosphere, but it’s still early in the season. Matala is a lovely location, and this hostel offers great value, especially when booking on their website."

"The 2* hotel is a few minutes from the beach and is perfect! I was there for 10 days at the end of May until 8th of June. My room was spotless, was cleaned every day by a very friendly young man and I got new sheets and towels every second day! The owners are so friendly and made me feel very welcome, their breakfast buffet and coffee was great. There were also some really tasty Greek delicacies in pastry and some Crêpes in Nutella! 😋 All in all I had a great stay and can highly recommend the Eva Marina!"

"Mycket bra vistelse på Calypso Hotel de Matala. Personalen är välkomnande, leende, och service. Hushållets kvalitet är exemplarisk, poolen är väl planerad, huvudrestaurangen är ganska varierad och bra för frukost och middag (halvpension) och flera måltider erbjuds av poolbaren för lunch. Priserna är mycket korrekta och hotellets situation är också mycket trevlig (500m från den lilla stadens centrum och stranden). Observera, de bilder jag ser på TripAdvisor verkar vara mycket gamla och mer aktuella. L’hôtel a été restauré depuis et est bien plus moderne. Petit bémol pour les personnes qui n’ont pas l’habitude : Aux WC il est demandé de déposer le papier toilette dans la pousse placée à proximité et non dans les toilettes directement. Det är ganska störande när man inte har vana vid det... men hushållet är så kvalitativt och regelbundet att man inte ens inser det."

"Dimitrs resort var en bra fingeravtryck.Vänligt hjälpsam personal, stor simbassäng och is...Rummen har ett skuggat utrymme (som är bra när mycket varmt).Rummet var rent och a/c var kallt.Bra familjerum med 2-sängar plus bunk sängar. Det finns ingen kedja i rummet men fråga och det är inget problem att få 1.Även smart TV i rummet som är ett stort plus. Dimitri själv är en bra kille och kommer att försöka hjälpa dig så mycket han kan.Tack för glasen."

"Just steps from the beach and the narrow streets lined with taverns and shops, yet on a quiet, shaded street, this small hotel stands out for its outdoor green space, where you can have breakfast or relax at any time. The owners, a very kind and hospitable couple, pay attention to the little touches that make guests feel welcome: bottles of cold water, carrying your luggage to your room (there's no elevator), a smile. Our room (and probably others as well) was a comfortable size, simple, and pleasant in its colors and furnishings. It lacked a place to put your luggage—perhaps a bench with cushions, but we didn't want to get them dirty. Some of the room's features were perhaps a little dated, but it's not a four-star hotel, and that's acceptable. Air conditioning included in the price, a small refrigerator, kettle, and cups are other thoughtful touches, as is a lovely little balcony with a table, chairs, and lines for hanging out swimsuits and beach towels. The bathroom, recently renovated, had a window... which is very rare. The breakfast buffet is available separately. We had a great time and recommend it to anyone looking for simple, no-frills accommodations."

"I swore I'd never go back to that hotel. I tried again three years later, and the verdict is still the same: the hotel is still just as bad and doesn't deserve its three stars. The staff's welcome needs improvement. Never a smile, no hello, no goodbye, starting with the owner and his two sons, I presume. And what about the cleaning lady?! The breakfast room is fairly modern, but it's a real cacophony; you can't hear yourself think. The breakfast is of mediocre quality. Let's start with the artificial orange juice, which is undrinkable. The pastries are all mass-produced and of poor quality. The fromage blanc, which is supposed to be a local specialty, is of very poor quality. One morning, the grapes on the buffet were rotten. The room: the only positive point is that the bathrooms have been modernized and renovated. The bedding is atrocious! It's like a bowl, and you can feel the springs. The state of the walls is a disaster, with stains, cracks, and paint splatters everywhere. The toilet seat was broken, the fridge leaked and was incredibly noisy, the furniture was outdated and dated from the 70s, and the patio door was in a pitiful state. There's no air conditioning in the common areas; the worst is in the hallways leading to the rooms. The small table with the plastic flowers in front of the elevators should be replaced. Attached are photos to support my claims. Conclusion: Avoid this hotel at all costs!!!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ En mycket njutbar vistelse på Fragiskos Hotel i Matala!Jag hade en underbar vistelse på Fragiskos Hotel och skulle definitivt rekommendera det! 😊 🌊 Fantastisk plats – Bara en kort promenad från stranden och det vackra havet. Hotellet är också perfekt beläget nära fotgängare gator, med massor av vackra restauranger och butiker, och precis bredvid de berömda Matala grottor.🏊 Stor simbassäng – en bra storlek och mycket trevlig för att koppla av efter en dag på stranden. 🍽️ Allvarlig och kvalitetsbuffet – massor av val och mycket bra övergripande kvalitet.🛏️ Rymligt och bekvämt rum – Vårt rum var rymligt, med mycket bekvämt säng, vilket gjordes för en bra natt s ömn. 📍 Perfekt plats i Matala – Allt är inom enkla promenader, vilket gör det mycket lätt att njuta av atmosfären i denna vackra by. ⚠️ En liten nedgång: även om det tydligt nämndes när bokningen gjordes, fann jag det lite förvånande att luftkonditionering kostar ytterligare 5 euro per dag. 🏓 En liten antydan: ett bordtennisbord kan vara ett trevligt tillägg till hotellet och skulle ge gästerna en annan rolig aktivitet.❤️ Allmänt, en riktigt bra vistelse! Lokalitet, atmosfär, faciliteter och vänliga miljöer gjorde vår semester mycket njutbar.Jag skulle gärna rekommendera Fragiskos Hotel till alla som letar efter en trevlig vistelse i Matala.Jag skulle definitivt komma tillbaka!"

"Eléa Terra Hotel i Matala är en mycket trevlig plats.Maria och hennes team är vackra och alltid hjälpsamma.Frukost är utmärkt, färsk och du kan vara så mycket du vill.Rengeringsdamarna arbetar hårt, så rummen, sängar och handdukar är alltid rena. Alexandro är den bästa bartendern @ poolbar och en hjälphand till Maria.Tack för Raki.🙂 Från hotellet är det mindre än fem minuter att gå till stranden och det finns en busshållplats direkt framför hotellet. Du kan besöka ruinerna i Faistos, en lördagsmarknad i Moires.Besutful är Red Beach.Besutful Bars och butiker i Matala med bästa Gyros.Nice städer som Pitsidia, Kamilari eller Kalamaki kan också besökas fotgängligt.Vi ses nästa sommar!"

"ATTENTION, SCAM ! Don’t fall for the pictures and reviews as i did. If you‘re looking for a place with furniture of the 1960‘s and atmosphere of a bad horror movie of the 1980‘s, that‘s the place to be! The weird -and sometimes really scary- owner Olympios is ruling his place like a Maharadscha for now 33 years, selects who can stay at his hotel (his words), no internet in the rooms, no TV, the pool is closed before 8am and after 8pm (but is not inviting anyway, directly beside the street, no shade, basic sunbeds without pillows…). But the worst about this place is the lack of atmosphere and renovation. Gives you a permanent feeling of being closed in a place where you do not want to be, horrible. And it was almost empty when we were there which made it even more suspicious…I took some picture where you can see state of the bathrooms, the reception with a switchboard on the right that is so old that it is almost cool (but also a bit scary!)….my 2 teenage boys were so scared and disappointed when arriving at the place (as me) that we immediately looked for another one. We stayed one night instead of the 5 booked and Olympios refused to pay back the difference of the down payment referring to a special law in Greece. THINK 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS PLACE AND VISIT IT BEFORE IF YOU CAN !"
