"GPS sent us to the wrong place at first but Selina is on the quiet side of town. It is a hostel so did not expect the Ritz Carlton. We booked two private rooms since we were two adults traveling with our grown children. Rooms were clean, simple and had everything you could need. Rooms were on the backside of the hotel so we were able to open the window with privacy to freshen the room. The Selina is not what I would typically book since it is casual and for younger adults but I never felt out of place. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and they make you feel welcome. Like you are hanging out at their home. We were able to enjoy the wonderful breakfast and even took a surf lesson (which I highly recommend.) the instructors were patient, fun and made sure we caught waves. You can tell they love what they do. Only complaint is that it is a bit noisy at night but nothing a pair of earplugs can’t fix."

"Bukubaki was brilliant all around! Great facility, right in the middle of nature, amazing eucalyptus and pine trees, nice and clean rooms, great design. We felt like home from start to finish. Most importantly, the staff was amazing. Very helpful, always smiling, and just the right kind of attention. Special place in our hearts goes to the surf instructors. Billy and Gustavo were incredible. Very friendly, great teachers and a lot ot fun! Excellent with kids and adults alike. Made us understand and appreciate the surfer mentality! We will definitely be back next year for a longer time!"

"Stannade i en hytt för fyra i augusti.Mycket trött inredning inne (och runt campingplatsen).Luftkonditionering fungerar inte ordentligt, bara tre plattor för en 4-sänghytt och bulb som inte arbetar i sovrummet. Höjd med mottagningsprov men inget hände trots 2/3 kunde ha fixats på 5 minuter.Många bättre alternativ i området rekommenderas därför att undvika och boka någon annanstans."

"Overall enjoyable 8 nights. Good location for the beach & surfing albeit 20 min walk to Peniche restaurants. Helpful & friendly staff with a shout out to Melissa who was extremely helpful with advice on things to do (other than surfing). Spacious, clean & comfy room & beds. Good breakfast though needs an extra coffee machine in busy times. Some areas need some TLC with some broken equipment in the gym & the tennis court needs resurfacing. The pools were nice although the outside one has lots of small of mosaic tiles missing one the base. Very relaxed and extremely clean hotel."

I called Luis the owner and to give him his due he agreed immediately to refund 2 of our 3 nights, I had the impression it wasn't the first time he'd had this request. "
