"Excellent quality facilities for a fellside hostel. Maybe even too good! Showers were reliably hot with no time limit. Small drying room but with plenty of hanging space. The whole hostel was toasty warm and clean and tidy. Only a couple of snug nooks for relaxing space, but this didnt seem to be a problem wven on a busy evening. WiFi works well in cafe/bar area. Staff were all really friendly and welcoming despite being busy and in the process of training others. TRACK TO HOSTEL: a few other reviews have questioned the state of the track up to the hostel. As of March 2025 you can manage fine in an average car as long as you take it steady. There are no bumps or drops bigger than a usual street kerb or speedbump."

I returned a few days after my stay to see if my lost pandora bracelet had been put into lost and found , only to see a worker wearing my exact bracelet young brown haired girl my late mother bought me that I did not want to cause a scene over this but hope to be contacted and get it back."

"Host Vickie of Abbey House B&B definitely made our first trip to Penrith a truly memorable experience. She was prompt with our pre-arrival queries. We love our suite with the "Thoughtful Drawer", bathrobes and delicious breakfast spread. Bonus is also its convenient location to train and bus stations for day trip to Lake District as well as walking distance to village squares with quaint local-owned artisanal shops, markets, and diners. We wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Thanks Vickie! ❤️"

"Brooklands Guesthouse bokades för oss av vårt vandringsföretag för att avsluta Lady Anne 8217s Way walk.När vi anlände hade Sue vårt rum redo.Extremt rent och tyst, det var den perfekta platsen för ett par nätter innan han åkte hem till staterna. Frukost var överflödig och smakfull.Sue satte ut service för att ta in avgång på vår andra kväll.Detta pensionat är centralt beläget för alla behov av shopping och tillgång till tågstationen. Om vi hade vetat om Brooklands innan vi slutförde våra resebokningar, skulle vi ha lagt till några fler nätter så att vi kunde ha utforskat mer av Penrith-området. Och medan vi inte har tittat på “Fyra i en säng”, kan vi förstå varför hon vann 2026-tävlingen.Sue Grundy är en glädjefull värd!"
