Sunrise Village Beach Hotel

"We booked this trip last minute and got a great deal. The views in the hotel and by the pool are amazing, and really made the holiday relaxing. I don’t know how you can’t be happy looking out at the view! The pool was clean and very warm, you could always find sun beds regardless of what time of day it was. Some families left rubbish around the pool all day, which sometimes was still there the next morning. However, I don’t think this is a reflection of the hotel. Water slides were open 11-1pm and 3pm-5pm. You have access to the beach via some steps. You could have a sunbed free of charge at the beach; or there was a ‘vip area’ where you have to pay for nicer sun beds / quieter area. Room had everything you need and was cleaned every day. There was always something to eat, although limited options for young children. I think the offering for children could be enhanced as it was a family resort. The nicer/ popular options for pudding seemed to run out around 7:30/7:45 during dinner service, and this would then be replaced with leftover cake that was there from lunch time or the night before, which was disappointing when you saw the original choice when you first walk in. Some other pudding options would be much better, again catering for younger guests other than just ice cream. We weren’t hungry for snacks beteeen lunch and dinner, but there was limited options and when we did have a look at 4pm there was hardly anything left even though it was on until 5pm. However, It’s made very clear when booking food isn’t available 24-7 as part of the offering, so we didn’t expect this. If you want constant food / snacks, then you can see when booking this isn’t the offering. The waffle machine was a great hit at breakfast and snack time, however, you could wait 30 minutes as it takes 4 minutes per waffle and there is only 1 machine. There is a small shop in the lobby, which had a selection of drinks, crisps, ice creams, sweets and chocolate. Would be great if they sold some pool toys or additional souvenirs. We didn’t utilise the entertainment team or go to any shows, but we did see them around the pool offering children’s face painting, games etc, aerobics, water polo etc. They really tried to get people to engage and join in. I can’t underhand why previous reviews have moaned that the hotel is isolated, it states this when booking. If you aren’t wanting to spend your days relaxing by the pool / beach, but want to go out exploring all day then perhaps it’s not for you. We really enjoyed our stay and had no complaints. The two ladies on reception were really friendly and helpful - thanks for a great stay."
