"It's not a hotel - more a restaurant with rooms . The menu is restricted to about 5 starters and mains and doesn't change daily. There are no daily specials to provide variety. The food on offer is good but tends towards the pink and cheffie. The car park is accessed by a very narrow lane - it is difficult for larger vehicles to navigate and maybe impossible. There is no residents lounge. If you want to read your paper, it's either in your room or the bar. On the plus side, the staff are excellent."

"We had a very last minute stay at the corner ways hotel and I can honestly say I have never had a better hotel experience! The couple who run the hotel were the most accommodating and kind individuals. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, the price was fantastic (we stayed in a superior room) and the hotel itself is about a 5 minute walk away. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, the room and view were beautiful and cosy, with little touches that made the place feel very homely. We will 100% be back, thank you so much!"

"I chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner but I was somewhat disappointed perhaps my expectations were too high. The atmosphere was cool and the food not special for the price paid, I do not feel able to recommend a visit. Other restaurants in Ventnor offer a warmer welcome and good food so I would not return."

"I spent a delightful four nights at Cornerways and would thoroughly recommend it to future visitors seeking a relaxing stay in Ventnor. My room was clean, comfortable and stylishly furnished, with facilities to make a hot drink. The property overall has a relaxed vibe with sea views and is set just outside the town centre, although at a walkable distance. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. An excellent breakfast hamper can be provided on request and it was amazing in terms of content and value for money."

"34 in our family group distributed round the conservatory. The service was good and the staff friendly and patient. The food was a different story, we have visited the Chequers many times and it's our 'go to' restaurant for Sunday lunch and carvery. On this occasion there were quite a few mumblings and mutterings. The carvery was disappointing, complaints about the rock hard potatoes and tough yorkshire puddings mainly, I had the pork belly and cold black pudding, did someone forget to heat it or were they just not bothered? All in all a very average experience. Our large group was pre-booked so they knew we were coming, as the guy who set this venue up the family weren't too slow to let me know that they were not amused! Shame about the quality of the food, time for a change methinks."

"Vi kom till baren den första kvällen.Jag ville prova en espresso martini så vi kom in i den här lilla men perfekt bildade, karaktärsfulla vinbaren. Det var uppenbarligen vanligt av lokalbefolkningar som alla kände varandra och vi undrade om vi skulle känna oss lite utrymme.Tvärtom.Alla var mycket chattade och vi var snart inblandade i samtalet och kände oss bekväma och välkomna. Senare besökte vi baren de flesta kvällar under vår sju-natts vistelse i Ventnor.Brian var så hjälpsam, rådde platser att gå, saker att göra och lokala.Mat.Dryckerna var så rimligt prissatta, det fanns ingen annan jämförbar plats. Brian var alltid glad att chatta och dela roliga anekdoter och de människor som kom in var avslappnade och bra humor.Allt var ospottligt ren och trevligt upprätthållen.Allt i en mycket minnesvärd och njutbar del av vår semester.Tack!"
