"Breakfast is not really included as such. Only the continental buffet. This is cereal, fruits, cereal bars, baked items and a large selection of cakes, including mince pies, which was odd for breakfast. The hot breakfast requires a surcharge to be paid, something I’ve never experienced before. The full English would be best described as part English breakfast, with no sausages, tomatoes, or mushrooms included which is a bit of an insult when you’re paying a surcharge. I can’t fault the service, or anything else, but this felt a bit naughty to be doing."

"En snabb övernattning som det var en trevlig plats för att besöka Alton Towers.Bokning var enkel, priset var rimligt och visade sig vara ett utmärkt värde för pengar.Lätt att hitta med sats nav som hamlet i Mapleton verkar vara en vägplats. Incheckad i pubbaren, mycket vänlig och stor atmosfär.Rummet var exakt som förväntat, osvittigt rent och väl presenterat.Mycket bekväm säng.Frukost på morgonen var läckra.Jag rekommenderar och stannar igen om jag någonsin är i området."

"We had a very strangely shaped room in the annexe. I can’t help feeling it could have been partitioned better. That said, it was very comfortable and the velux window above the bed allowed a nice flow of fresh air ion a very muggy night. An extractor fan from the kitchen or laundry below was rather noisy in the evening, as was the traffic on the road outside, but I think g is reasonable to expect a bit of noise in a pub B&b so I’m not complaining. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is good, with a compact but well varied menu, in which almost all items could be made gluten free. However I did feel that it is marketed toward the more horizontally and gravitationally challenged sector of the populace as the portions were about twice the size that I would normally expect, but everything we had was nicely prepared and presented. Breakfast in the morning included the novelty of Staffordshire oatcakes, which are very similar to fried parathas. The pub is in a beautiful situation by the river Dove, with some nice public footpath walks leading from it. The garden is surrounded by some beautiful mature trees - weeping willow, ash, sycamore - but no oak! We really enjoyed our stay."
