"Vi stannade tyvärr i en natt bara på grund av tidsbegränsningar!Personalen är välkomnande, vänliga och mycket effektiva.Byggnaden är mycket väl presenterad och underhålls mycket väl. En fantastisk Victorian Style Toscan Villa, hotellrummen är inställda på 2 övre sprayvåningar.Söta rum, oförsvarligt utsökta med imponerande landningsområden som du kan koppla av och använda.En utomhuspool på erbjudande också. Frukost är mycket omfattande, serverad av underbart glada damer.Inget är för mycket störande!Ge det en gång, du kommer inte att bli besviken!"

"I have been coming to this hotel for about twenty years., and the reason I keep coming back is not the beautiful views of Barga and the Garfagnana mountains, or the comfortable rooms and great spa facilities, but it is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful. Same faces every year and they treat you like family."

"I did the full week cooking course week with Rita at the Mezzaluna in Barga. It was exactly as described on the can: very informal, a great warm welcome, really inclusive: she drove us everywhere for the tourist trips and wine tastings... For the cooking classes she adapted everything for me being vegetarian. The rooms are super clean, very rustic, not chic, but spacious and adequate, which was fine and the price reflects that. Plus: when we knew there were two days of heavy rain: she rearranged the cooking classes into two rainy days and moved the tourist trips to the days when it didn't rain. And on the rainy day, we said can we go to a regular supermarket to look around and find things to take home: directly: no problem! We cooked and we cooked... and we ate so much, and the wine flowed..! Nothing was too much trouble. Alex delivered great musical entertainment. The added value of personal social history about her family and ancestors really added to the authenticity of the week. If you are looking for something to do which is authentic and solo and you are a foodie like me: look no further!"

"Spridda hotell organiserat mycket bra, olika typer av boende flyttade bland vilka att välja när bokningen görs , restaurang på plats lite dyrt. en applåd för frukost:abundant och varierad, så många drycker och mat för alla smaker! Vi hade en hund efteråt och vi blev välkommen, både på hotellet och på restaurangen. Bra plats x avlägsna spinn och ta lite frisk luft flyr från sommarvärmen. vägen x att komma är mycket uppåt."

"Vi hade en fantastisk tid i Barga och Villa Moorings är den perfekta platsen för att slappna av och utforska området. Vacker 1920-talets konstdekobyggnad som behåller många ursprungliga funktioner - om du vill ha äkthet och en vänlig familjeatmosfär så är det här stället. Jag förstår att vissa människor kan hitta de gamla möblerna osv. lite "kirky", men vi älskade karaktären.Frukost var fantastisk, allt hölls riktigt rent och personalen var super vänlig.Tack alla! "The location is extremely beautiful, with vast panoramic views, at the time of our visit early May 2026, distant snow topped ranges were visible. A €20 taxis ride to Barga, sees you at the local station for trip to Pisa and Lucca around 45mins away. For a few euros rather than €100 for a taxi and you get to see more countryside. We booked an accessible room as I use a wheelchair, unfortunately on one day the service lift was broken and the smaller lift are tiny. Had to fold my chair ( then only just big enough.) The room is adequate with small folding screen cubicle in shower. It's supposed to be four and a half star rating, I personally think that's stretching it. I think the staff make up most of those awarded. The reception staff are without question exceptional, as are the waiting and porter staff, John in particular. For a nearly 5 star rating, parts are worn and tired. Backs of dining chairs are rubbed and scuffed, cutlery is very worn, at breakfast on a few days there were no china cups but paper cups only, cutlery wasn't sharp, you couldn't cut a peach at breakfast, we had half board the food was OK but lacked vegetables. It's a Marriot hotel, and one of the American bosses was there at the time of our visit, they were polishing coal as they used to say. But it is tired. Worth the money? Beware all the extras. Would I stay again, I don't think so. We were only on a short break (4 days)"

"My husband, daughter and myself were visiting the area in Italy. Our friend recommended Rita's cooking class. We had one of the best experiences of our trip! Rita was welcoming , fun, and knowledgeable. After the class we shared the DELICIOUS meal we had prepared with the guests that were staying at her B and B. We enjoyed meeting new people , sharing a meal and the surprise ending topping off the day with karaoke! So much fun! Thank you Rita"
