"This complex of hotels, log cabins, restaurant and cycle hire is not part of the Renaissance Tuscany il Ciocco Resort & Spa. Although the entrance to the site from the main road is the same. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the hotel. The view over to Barga and beyond is lovely. Our room was in the College Hotel, the building opposite Monteceneri Hotel where the reception is located. The room was a good size with a small balcony. Supplied with bottled water, coffee machine (a few pods), a desk and hanging area for clothes. The bed was large and very comfortable (we are very fussy). The bathroom had a shower and toiletries. We walked up the step road every morning for breakfast, very pleasant to listen to the birds and breath in the fresh mountain air. Breakfast was plentiful; fruit juices, coffee, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, cakes, bread/toast, jams, honey, cheeses, hams, fresh fruit and yoghurt. We ate dinner at the Locanda Alla Posta restaurant twice during our week and enjoyed both meals. Overall we enjoyed our week at Il Ciocco Hotels."

"Byggnaden och markerna är historiska och vackra.Tjänsten är utmärkt med hotellpersonalen som ser ut att vara så hjälpsam som möjligt.Frukost var vad du skulle förvänta dig på en bra italiensk plats.Vårt rum hade en AC som är en must i augusti väder. Vi har också några vackra vyer av bergen från våra fönster.Hotellet är inte för långt från några stora promenader om du gillar att vara utomhus (om 25-35 min kör bort) och är också på gångavstånd från huvudrestaurangen. Medan vi hade en trevlig vistelse blev vi förvånade över hur datumet för vårt rum, möbler och badrum var.Sängen var också hård. Vi hade också uppskattat en huvud på förhand att det skulle finnas en jazzkonsert på grund av natten vi anlände eftersom vi var ganska trötta på resan bara för att upptäcka att vi skulle gå till sängs så tidigt som vi skulle ha velat. (att notera att konserten var gratis för gäster så def en perk om du inte är trött och ser fwd till lite roligt underhållning)."

"We arrived in a rainy period but were so warmly welcomed. We were so happy with the room and the understated elegance of the whole hotel. Every member of staff goes out of the way to be polite and helpful. The location being up high gives such breath taking views. We only had B&B, but the breakfast selection was vast and of excellent quality. Everything about the hotel says luxury hotel. As it was raining quite heavily we were stuck in, but were able to use the amazing pool and spa facilities - steam & sauna. We also used the most well equipped large gym I have ever seen in a hotel. Like other reviewers here, I was a little reticent due to some bad reviews, but I am a seasoned traveller and I am unable to fathom how anyone could come away from here with a bad opinion. It's an amazing grand hotel of 5 star quality. Thank you to all the staff from the reception, the restaurant, the bar, the maids and the lovely room service boy. The staff are a credit to this very cool, grand old hotel! Thank you!"
