"Couldn’t fault the actual room, even though it wasn’t the room advertised or shown in pic, that was a little annoying. The shower wasn’t very good and the room was very stuffy at night as you couldn’t open windows due to noise outside. The location was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. The noise both outside and in the actual hotel were quite annoying with slamming of doors and what sounded like moving furniture above us. We knew there was an issue with noise as we read reviews but we thought we are pretty easy going and can  usually sleep through anything, we even brought ear plugs, but recon you’d need industrial ones to block out all the noise there. Sadly I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend to others,"

"Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. "What a perfect place to stay. We arrived earlier than expected but were welcomed by the friendly staff and allowed to use our room early. Room was spotless and had all you could want, a mini fridge with fresh milk and a daily slice of cake left each day. Breakfast was fantastic and a great variety for a B & B. Close to the centre of Bath. Would highly recommend."
