"I used to stay at this hotel multiple times in the course of visiting family in the area. Parking was free, the hotel was well kept, and the free chocolate chip cookies were delicious. No more. The hotel installed a gate to the parking area, made no other visible changes, and now charges $40 per car per night. This is not downtown LA, this is a hotel located out in an open area away from crowded areas, with just a couple of adjacent commercial buildings nearby. There seems to be no reason to charge THIS LEVEL of overnight parking except to transfer funds from you to them. But more than that, the hotel has gotten noticeably shabbier. Dings and scuffs in hotel hallways not repaired, duct tape used as a ”fix” for torn and worn hallway carpeting, and even the cookies aren't as good. I will stay somewhere else next time."

"Located in the center of Berkeley with spacious room offering all new amenities for a complete kitchen, dining space and well decorated bedroom with high quality bedding linens. Excellent breakfast is another plus. I would definitely go back to this hotel!"

"If you have something to do at UC Berkeley, this hotel is the best place to stay with following reasons. (1) Best Location - The nearest to the UC Berkeley, (2) Staff there is super nice and friendly. It made my stay so comfortable. In a meanwhile, you need to bear in mind that (1) Facility is old, (2) you need to bear additional cost, such as Overnight Self Parking 37.00, and (2) Property Amenity Fee 25.00, (3) Property Amenity Fee City Occupancy Tax 3.00, that are not cheap. Overall, I'm satisfied with my choice!"

"The location of the hotel is in the downtown of Berkeley with lots of restaurants and supermarket (Target) around. Bart and buses are adjacent to the hotel. The room is spacious and comfortable. The bed, pillows and blankets are good and warm. The bath amenities are available but you have to squeeze hardly to get out the lotion. The road near to the hotel is under repair, the workers start working quite early in the morning at 7am, thus it really affected us as we didn’t wish to wake up so early. Homeless people are scattered around the hotel therefore you have to exercise care when going in and out of the hotel."

"We rent a car for our 8 days family travel to Berkeley. The holiday inn provides free parking, and this is the most important customer service of our decision to select this hotel. The front-desk staff is helpful. In the public parking lot of fisherman's wharf, it costs 10 dollars for one-hour parking. The breakfast is free and a good complimentary service for all customers. The laundry machine is located at the first floor and very convenient for family travel customers. The only thing is that I had got to find a good time to use this machine or spend hours in waiting. In total, we enjoyed a good stay at this hotel."

"Booked NASH Hotel mainly for its location, near Berkeley. Definitely recommend the Superior King Room as it comes with private bathroom instead. Furnishing are dated and but fairly-maintained."
