"We enjoyed a wonderful three days at Finca El Cabezo. Eva and her parents Miguel and excellent hosts, friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to see and do in the area. The finca, built primarily of granite, is beautiful with impressive rooms, a large courtyard and a mirador providing views across the countryside. All of our breakfasts at the six places we stayed on our trip to Spain were excellent, but if we had to choose a 'best' it would be Finca El Cabezo. Freshly squeezed orange juice from oranges of the finca, delicious bread with a tomato spread and jamon, eggs, yoghurt with fruit, cookies and pastries from a nearby Portuguese bakery, and on and on. The only down sides of El Cabezo is a little bit road noise and that they do not serve dinner. But there are good options in nearby (7 kms) San Martin de Trevejo and elsewhere. One night we bought meat, cheese, olives, bread, wine etc. in San Martin de Trevejo and enjoyed a 'picnic' back at El Cabezo using the plates, glasses and cutlery. This less explored region of Spain is very traditional and picturesque along the foothills of the Sierra de Gata and is in close proximity (only 25 km) to Portugal. If you enjoy a quiet, peaceful environment with friendly cats and dogs and genuinely nice (and smiling) hosts, Finca El Cabezo is a perfect choice."

"Igår kväll gick vi in i detta vandrarhem och dödade två stora kuddar, vi berättade för ägaren och sa att de nyligen rökt och gick ut genom badrummet, att det enda de kunde göra var att ge oss en spray döda. Vi gick hela eftermiddagen till Tricky och middag och när vi öppnade baddörren, fanns det igen tricky, Vi bestämde oss för att lämna hotellet klockan 11.30. Vi berättade för ägaren att sanningen var snäll men han hade ingen ursäkt att ge oss. Han erbjöd oss ett annat rum men han kunde inte försäkra oss att det inte fanns några kakor. Så vi lämnade vandrarhemet och gick till äventyret för att leta efter en annan, lyckligtvis är det inte hög säsong i Trujillo och vi hittade ett rummet precis framför, på hotellet Victoria, super rekommenderad, gammal men mycket vacker, ren och en underbar behandling."
