"Jag har inte ens en bra idé. När jag checkade in var jag tvungen att bevisa att jag har en bokning. Varför gör man det om hotellet inte verkar ha en översikt över det? För det andra, kvinnan på receptionen hade satt på en spfa innan. Vi visste inte att hon var en av personalen och stannade allvarligt 3 minuter innan receptionen och väntade tills någon kom. Även tryckt på klingorna. Hon har aldrig sagt något på spanska, men eftersom vi inte har någon översättare, sa jag bara att jag behöver Wi-Fi för det. Först efter några minuter har hon sedan lyckats hämta någon som bara talar spanska. Men han var så smart att ge oss Wi-Fi och hämta sin översättare. Men att jag behövde bevisa att jag bokade. Det har aldrig hänt mig och det var verkligen skamligt. Pool, bar och restaurang har stängts som en förvarning i åratal, men fortfarande är stängda. Rengöring av rum finns inte heller. Bakom barteken är det oftast en hund som ringer omedelbart högt och vill gå över... men inte oroa sig, det är inte den enda hunden där. De har minst tre på marken. Det var svamp i rummet och badrummet var det värsta jag någonsin haft. Det kan jag verkligen inte rekommendera. Ta ett annat hotell för mer pengar utan skämt! Det bästa var den leguan jag sett... och den fungerande luftkonditioneringen... men det finns inget mer."

"We drove to El Coco beach on a whim and wanting to find somewhere to stay on the beach. Walked up to the bar and the young lady working there was able to accommodate us on the spot in one of the rooms. The room was super basic but economical and we had the sound of the ocean to lull us to sleep. That's where the good ends. That evening, a rainstorm blown up by a tropical rainstorm in the Gulf dumped rain all night in that area of Costa Rica. We wake up at 2 am and step off the bed into 4 inches of water, our sneakers floating by and a backed up sewer system in the shower. Fortunately, the shower "tray" kept the black water contained in the shower and not contaminated all of our stuff. We move our bags onto chairs and tables and my laptop bag (fortunately no damage except for a few wet documents) and try our best to sleep hoping the water recedes in time for morning. There is literally a river of water out of our front door. So, tropical rainstorms happen... I grew up in the Caribbean so I get it. The hotel also lacks any sort of water mitigation from the parking lot that lies uphill or from all the water running off the roof straight down in front of the doors (no gutters or downspouts to divert it away from the front). But what followed probably ranks as the worst service I have ever seen traveling the world. We wake and the water has receded some so we ask for a mop so we can have a dry floor - no one or mop shows up. We try to dry our stuff, place wet stuff in bags and decide to go eat our included breakfast to make the best of this and realize the guy sitting two tables from us is actually the owner. We never saw him nor any employee throughout the "flood" to apologize or even provide some type of something...?. I think what really bothered me and the reason for this review was basically seeing the owner casually enjoying his breakfast and on his phone the entire time we were in the restaurant with most of our stuff now wet and EVERY single room flooded from the previous evening. I mean, isn't that the kind of all-hands-on-deck crisis that should have everyone helping and dealing with the mess and customers - including the owner? If not, I can't imagine what would be. Anyway, the staff in the restaurant were attentive and the food was pretty good. It's a shame because we were in Costa Rica for ten days and this was our last night. Everywhere we went the people, service and attention were spectacular."

"Bahia Pez Vela is a beautiful resort, and our villa there was as much as we ever expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and the excursion opportunities in the area. Cesar and his team were very helpful and accommodating, and we can't say enough good things about how we were treated. Also the food at Soluna was excellent. Overall, we give our experience a "10". We would love to come back some time."
