"We had such an enjoyable stay at Hotel Suria we didn’t want to leave! It is situated in the most beautiful surroundings up quite a steep road ( I highly recommend using a 4x4) . Our cabin was beautiful, clean and very comfortable beds. The staff were just amazing, the manager Christina is clearly someone who loves her job and her enthusiasm is infectious! The waiting staff are so friendly and thoughtful, and Joshua makes the best margaritas! We had a lovely walk to the waterfall close by. I highly recommend the trails at Savegre Trails nearby. We will never forget this beautiful place!"

Paraíso Quetzal Lodge

"After having no luck finding a Quetzal on my own, my wife and I signed up for a Quetzal tour at the Paraiso Quetzal Lodge, and they delivered. We went out with a guide, and were entreated to at least four quetzals, male, female, and probably immatures. It was a real thrill to see this iconic species, and the sighting capped a two-week adventure where we saw over 350 species of birds in Costa Rica. I highly recommend this tour, and the price is reasonable compared to other places I checked."

"The room was clean, the breakfast was good and the service was good. The hotel's own protection area is very large, and the forest trail is very good. There are many gardens and nearby road birds near the hotel reception desk, and the environment is good. The only downside is that the room is far from the hotel reception desk and the restaurant, and it is not convenient for bad legs."

Toucanet Lodge

"A really cute, friendly lodge with cabins. The manager (Michael) and cook (Jonathan) are exceptional. The food is delicious and artistically presented, and breakfast was included with our room. The dining room and cabins have great views. We were there for bird watching and saw quite a few species from our balcony. We also took a quetzal tour with Oscar and saw six quetzals about a 5 minute drive from the lodge. There is a hiking trail that goes up onto the ridge behind the lodge - a steep climb if you go all the way to the top, with views of the surrounding coffee, avocado, and apple fields. You can also do coffee or winery tours in the area. In early March it went down to about 6C at night, so take warm clothes. Lots of blankets are provided, but the cabins aren't heated. NOTE: currently there are two websites that come up if you search Google for "Toucanet Lodge"- the CORRECT one is "eltoucanetCR". The WRONG one is "toucanetlodge" (this is actually the website for a different lodge that for some reason has appropriated the el Toucanet domain name, causing a lot of confusion for customers of both establishments!)."

"Alla recensioner av denna lägenhet är korrekta.Det är en speciell plats med speciella utsikter.Vi var här en natt under regnsäsongen. Det fanns en brand i skogen som skulle ha varit välkomna på natten när det var coolt men hotellet kunde inte ge matcher! Det fanns en tom låda vid brandplatsen...Några klumpar: Var medveten om att vägen är i fruktansvärt tillstånd och den alternativa vägen är endast praktiskt genomförbar i en 4x4 Det finns begränsad varmt vatten. Vad som finns i duschen serveras av en mini-elektrisk värmare med exponerad tråd som inte skulle passera mönster i USA eller EU.Det fanns inga sängsida eller läsljus i vårt hytt tintackarna ljudde med fallande regndroppar. Jag kan bara säga att jag inte kunde sova eftersom det låter som om någon höll på att ta taket hela natten. Restaurangen är trist att vi hade trott i en orange soppa som var Michelin* kvalitet, men priset på en måltid utan vin var £60 eller $75 per person som är Londonpriser eller mer."

"Denna lilla förlorade bostad i skogen förtjänar en tur. Ägare och deras team är absolut charmiga, mycket försiktiga med att allt går bra för sina kunder. Trädgårdarna är perfekt utrustade. La cuisine est délicieuse, dîner et petit déjeuner. L'environnement est très agréable, avec un petit Trail d'environ 800 mètres dans la propriété pour une balade dans la forêt , et de très belles randos à faire tout autour. Colibris och ekrokar gör showen på frukost. Slappna och vila, en mycket vacker upptäckt för ett milt pris."
