"The hotel has incredibly beautiful views, the windows overlook the cliff, the jungle, tea plantations. The breakfast is good, hearty. The staff is very responsive, always ready to help. It's cool at night, so ask for extra blankets. The only downside is the pedestrian road to the hotel, as half of it is on concrete, the other half is on the ground, where there are leeches in the wet season, they have time to stick to you in 4 minutes of walking. The hotel can only be reached by tuk-tuk along a narrow road, the staff kindly gave us a ride to the car on the day of our departure. I would gladly stay at this hotel again."

"The room was adequate. However the room was sold as a garden view and this is not the case. The toilet also has very poor drainage so is constantly wet and stinks of drains which the mosquitos love! We also paid for breakfast and were sold the room on trip as having breakfast included when we spoke to the manager about this he said we must pay extra and was incredibly defensive and unhelpful. The location is close to main road however this does mean you will hear loud music until about 11 which is understandable."

Tea Garden Holiday Inn

"I hate to say this, as I know how important the business is to these small run villas, but unless you're absolutely desperate, don't stay here. Yes it was very cheap and the views are very nice from certain vantages, but the place is dirty and falling apart. No hot water so didn't shower during my stay. Bathroom falling apart. Window screen broken so any creatures can come through at night. Beds and bedding dirty. Towels beyond usable. Mosquito nets beyond use. Safety also a concern. Bathroom window not secure and front door - single small latch. You're given a luggage padlock to secure you're room when you leave. As mentioned, views are nice and good location to the city centre, but I would not stay here if given the choice. Id rather pay more and they upgraded this inn."

The Feel Luxury Boutique Hotel Ella

"This is the fifth hotel we've stayed at in Sri Lanka, and frankly, it's the best. The pleasant smell of fresh wood, clean, pleasant rooms, high ceilings, and good air conditioning. And most importantly, the blankets—not all hotels provide them. We were greeted very warmly and offered coconuts. The only downside to this hotel is that you can hear your neighbors. The walls are very thin, making it especially uncomfortable at night, especially if your neighbors stay up late. The breakfast was delicious, and we were offered a traditional breakfast of spicy coconut flakes with vegetables—very tasty. They also made decent coffee and delicious ginger tea. I'll definitely return to this hotel; it was a wonderful addition to our visit to Ella."

"Hotellet är 200 meter från järnvägen, det är möjligt att gå genom det till vattenfallet och till den nioåriga bron, njuta av fantastiska utsikter över bergen.
