"For genuine motel experience whilst travelling Route 66 the Cactus Inn in McLean was as authentic as it gets. Very basic but was clean and provided a good nights rest. Not much in the way of cafes or food establishments (at least on a Sunday night) however room is equipped with fridge, microwave and coffee machine which is adequate for self provision - local convenience store only two minute drive away. WIFI not the greatest however as pointed out on the many wee notes and bits of info left in the room they don’t actually advertise it. Comfortable stay in one of Route 66’s founding towns, which also hosts the renowned Devils Rope Museum - not something you experience everyday and worth the visit 👍"
