"Vi stannade i lägenheten som hade två sovrum, en lounge, kök och middagsområde med tak.Lägenheten var utomordentligt ren, vackert underhållen och mycket bekväm i allmänhet. En av de viktigaste markeringarna var den fantastiska utsikten över vattenfallet från badrummet.Den viktigaste nedre sidan var temperaturen.På grund av de höga tak och betonggolvet blir lägenheten extremt kall, särskilt på natten. Det finns en brandplats, men den höll huvudsaken loungen varm, och lakan var bruten så vi var tvungna att säkra den med loggar.Tyvärr finns det inga värmare eller luftkonditioneringsenheter i sovrummen, vilket gör rumen särskilt kalla under natten. Frukost är små.Det är en vacker och väl underhållen lägenhet med en fantastisk utsikt, men ytterligare uppvärmning i sovrum skulle göra vistelsen mycket mer bekväm, särskilt på vintern."

"Vi hade en trevlig vistelse på Biggy Best Cottages i Howick. The cottages are set in beautiful gardens and the whole place has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere – the sort of place where you sit outside with a drink and suddenly realize you’ve been relaxing for much longer than planned. Vår lägenhet var ren, bekväm och hade allt vi behövde.Personalen var vänlig och välkomnande, och frukost var utmärkt samt middag.Allt i allt, en charmig plats att bo och en perfekt base för att utforska Midlands. "VERY over priced. Coffee - only 2 sachets provided. No option of tea. So either have one before bed or the morning!!! The only form of toileties, was a little round soap in a wrapper and an empty plastic bottle with a label stating "shampoo". Not even hand soap at the basin or a hand towel. Single ply toilet paper looked like rats had been at it. Mats in the bathroom had holes, as did the spare double/queen sized blanket for the single bed. No hairdryer. Electric blanket did not work and temp was around 3°. Thank goodness I had taken my hotwater bottle. Had 3 mis-matched cups, glasses, plates etc. Floor rug could do with a wash. Curtains are really thin and don't block out the lights from outside. Only 1 2-pin plug point in the room. There were various notices stuck with prestick on the walls indicating Rules, Tv guide, don't feed dogs, no smoking etc. Why not put all in a little flip file all in one place?? The single bed was comfortable and there was hot water for a shower. Location is good but needs loads of TLC. Don't think I will be going back any time soon."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was one of the biggest surprises I've ever stumbled across, and quite possibly one of the best places my wife and I have stayed in the Midlands. The Old Mushroom Farm was recommended to me by a client, Alice, who lives on the neighbouring farm. She told me I wouldn't regret staying here, and she couldn't have been more right. Thank you, Alice! What was once a working mushroom farm has been transformed into something truly special. The owners have created a destination that perfectly blends thoughtful design, local creativity, and the natural beauty of the KZN Midlands. It's one of those rare places that feels authentic rather than manufactured, this is exactly what my wife and I always look for when traveling locally or aboard. We stayed in The Loft, and absolutely loved it. The space is beautifully simple, warm and rustic, while still offering all the comforts you need. The views from the main bedroom and lounge/ dinning/ kitchen are breath taking! It fits perfectly into the misty rolling hills surrounding Howick, and waking up there each morning was incredibly peaceful. Breakfast was exceptional every single day, and I have to give a special mention to the freshly baked breakfast bun, the scrambled eggs are incredible, which quickly became the highlight of every morning. Sitting outside with a lekker coffee, taking in the view while enjoying my breakfast bun, my daughter on my lap and my wife sitting calming next to me holding my hand was the perfect way to start each day. What really makes The Old Mushroom Farm stand out, though, is the wonderful community it has created. The artisan shops are full of genuinely friendly and passionate people who were happy to chat and share their stories. My wife and I found ourselves lingering far longer than we had planned. I was particularly captivated by Midlands Books & Collectables, where I happily lost track of time browsing through books, antiques and hidden treasures. If you're looking for a place that offers more than just accommodation—somewhere with character, creativity, fantastic food, beautiful scenery and genuinely warm people, yes the people are warm even though the midlands in winter are freezing, the warmth from the community resonated with us —The Old Mushroom Farm is difficult to beat. We'll definitely be back, and next time we'll be staying even longer! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"We attended a wedding and decided to stay at the venue. The venue and location was beautiful. The rooms were dated, old, smelt strange and full of insects. Also I had my child with me and we paid a surcharge which was no problem, when we asked for a towel for him they refused (still not sure why, was told guest steal towels) The bathrooms are so old and dated and we were not able to get hot water, the shower also leaked ND the entire floor was wet. Please also not my entire immediate family stayed there and we had booked a total of 5 rooms but a towel could not be spared. It's truly a beautiful venue but the rooms need urgent work and the staff at reception can't talk properly."

"The hotel is in a great location but clearly the owners have not invested in this property in years. The rooms and common areas are tired and in some cases carpets are dirty and seem well past replacement age. The curtains in the room were also tired and did not pull properly and the soft furnishings were worn. There is no excuse in this day and age for no internet access in the bedrooms, all the guest in our party complained about this. The breakfast is ok with the eggs being consistently over cooked. When in the common areas there seems to be little sensitivity of guests with staff and management often conversing loudly. Other issues are a lack of room safes and bar fridges as well are poor heating in the room. One to avoid as there are far better options that do not suffer these problems in the area."

"My wife and I just got married at Lythwood Lodge, and what a fantastic experience we had. We stayed at the lodge for 3 nights, and the room we stayed in was simply amazing. All of our guests commented on how well furnished and comfortable the rooms were. The team at Lythwood Lodge was outstanding, with John and Skimbuso leading the way. All the staff members were friendly and very helpful. The food served was of an exceptional standard. We were both extremely impressed with the food, and we had a number of guests complement the food at the wedding. A final shout out to John, who really went above and beyond with helping us plan our wedding day and answering all the questions we had and was on hand to help us get through the weekend with ease. Our thanks to everyone at Lythwood Lodge for an amazing weekend, and one we will never forget! #lythwoodweddings"

Till slut kommer jag att lägga mig med mer buller 12.20 genom att slampa hans dörr och buller i hans dusch genom att skrika och svära... för att slampa dörren igen vid 12.50 ....Oacceptabelt beteende för vad vi betalade för vistelsen. Jag var rädd som en kvinna att gå ut och säga att han var tyst.Barkylskåp måste avfrosas och säkras.Kaffemaskinen skulle inte förstöra bryggan."
