"Unfortunately, I regretted booking this property. It was difficult to find a suitable hotel in Karaganda. I had originally booked Senator Hotel, and I should have kept that reservation instead. I was extremely disappointment with a check-in mishap that involved the front desk. I booked (2) suites, since I was hosting guests. My guests were to arrive a bit later, and staff was aware that I wanted my guests to be able to pick up their room key when they arrived. However, there was a problem when I tried to use my AMEX card for the room payment and deposit. Their card reader was unable to process my card, and the staff could not figure out why. I communicated to the staff that I had cash to pay for the rooms if necessary, but that I had a high preference for using my credit card. The staff advised me not to worry, said they would check with their administrator on the matter, and they sent me to my room. Unbeknown to me, when my guests arrived a short while later, the front desk staff demanded that my guests pay for both rooms. The staff explained to my guests that my credit card was not viable, and therefore my guests would need to make the payment before they would be allowed to check in. The only person who can speak decent English is Ali, Administrator. My guests had to go to the bank and get a loan to pay for the (2) suites. They did not inform me until the next day, and I was mortified. As far as the hotel itself, it was okay but not great. The lobby was spacious and nice... but our suite was very basic, and did not feel clean enough for my standards. Breakfast was not the greatest, but there are some American options. I recommend staying somewhere else in Karaganda. Private apartment rentals are nicer have a much lower price point."

"Vi stannade två nätter i Karaganda på Hotel Senator och hade en bra tid.Detta är ett modernt, mest affärsorienterat hotell (Karaganda är inte en turiststad), men det är utmärkt. Det är mycket trevligt och elegant inredda med en trevlig lobby och restaurangområde och mycket trevliga, stora, bekväma rum med stora fönster.Hela platsen är extremt ren och väl underhållen. Det är mycket bra, med personal som är uppmärksamma, vänliga och hjälpsamma, men mycket professionell.Den som kör receptionen och den som är på restaurangen talade utmärkt engelska.Rummen kom med frukost, som var utmärkt. Menyn innehåller ett val från olika sorters frukost - ryska, "amerikanska", "franska" osv. Vi försökte både ryska och amerikanska och båda var utmärkta.Amerikanerna var inte riktigt vad vi skulle tro som en traditionell amerikansk frukost, men hade haft Den scrambled ägg, bröd och mini-amerikanska pannkakor.Den ryska frukosten inkluderade utmärkta sirniki, Blini och Kasha.Platsen är utmärkt i stadens centrum. Det är lätt att komma till hotellet när man kör in och lätt att komma ut ur staden snabbt, men dess centrala plats gör det mycket vandrarbart för stadscentret, med många viktiga lokala platser och platser att gå eller dricka inom trevlig promenad, gatorna är ganska tysta och lindade med träd."

"The hotel is a 4-star. Overall, everything is fine, but the rooms are a bit tired. And for some reason, they never brought me towels (sometimes a large one, sometimes a foot towel). Breakfasts are delicious and filling."
