"I don’t even know where to start, this place was so perfect. From check in to check out, everything was so smooth. We had to change rooms due a broken curtain rail on our 2nd night and Marialena dealt with it brilliantly. Our first room was a two storey one bed overlooking the greenery. It was so beautiful, with a lovely private pool , surrounding gardens and fab balcony with two loungers. Our second room was a two bed villa overlooking the sea - just wow! The view was breathtaking. The beds are incredibly comfortable with soft white linen and plump pillows. Bathrooms luxurious with lovely natural full size products. The sevice is 5* plus. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and made a real effort to stop and chat. We became very fond of the restaurant staff over the week. All in all, we can’t wait to return. Food was glorious, particularly the breakfasts."

"Where do I begin, after an unfortunate accident whilst on holiday my husband and I stayed at Canale Hotel and Suites whilst return flights to the UK were being organised. From the moment our booking was made we received service at its absolute best. The staff at this hotel are simply amazing, attentive and anticipate your needs before you even voice them, nothing was to much trouble and every single one of them went above and beyond. The rooms and facilities are first class, luxury throughout, the breakfast is plentiful and absolutely delicious and could keep you going all day, the location is fabulous with wonderful views of Argostoli Harbour, with plenty of restaurants and shops in close proximity. The sister hotel Casaly is just a few doors away and has equally amazing staff and fabulous spa facilities. If you are looking for 5 Star luxury in Kefalonia, do not look anywhere else book Canale Hotel and Suites!"

"This accommodation is ok if you are very fit or have a car or be prepared to pay for a taxi up and down .7€ each way . Yes there are nice views but it’s at the top of a long road that is steep. The pool area is nice but the rooms let it down. Where the breakfast is situated is not very big and if and when it’s gets busy you would be waiting a while. Would we stay again , probably not ."

"What a great place to stay . First of all the family that run the complex , 3 brothers and their mum are super friendly and very welcoming, nothing too much trouble . Nice accommodation with a sea facing balcony , there are facilities for cooking in your room if you wish but the food at Oscars is very good and reasonable so we didn’t bother . it’s very well placed for Argostoli or Lassi the later is a 15 minute walk . The lovely kalamina beach is a short walk , beautiful clear water great for snorkeling , nice beach bar , loungers €15 for a pair with umbrella . We would certainly go back ."

"Hotel is positioned on a beautiful part of the island. The grounds are lush and pool is great. We loved everything here as far as the environment, views, amenities and our room, but the service was quite poor specially with the front desk. Our room was directly by the pool, and two nights in a row live music was playing at the pool restaurant until 11pm, which is great if you are there enjoying it, but not when you have a small child and trying to put them to bed. The next day when I told the front desk member that the music was very loud in our room and we were unable to sleep he just said yes we can play music until 11. When I pushed further and asked if we could be moved the answer was no. And that was that. I was stunned at this terrible customer service. I appreciate the hotel was fully booked but a simple gesture, an apology or sympathy would have gone a long way."

"We booked a two-week stay at this hotel and, while there were a few pleasant moments, overall the experience did not reflect the standards expected of a five-star establishment. On our first day, we dined at the poolside restaurant, which was very disappointing. My toasted sandwich was poorly presented, while my husband’s club sandwich contained chewy, unpleasant chicken that was clearly not fresh. The chips were cold and undercooked, making the €18 cost difficult to justify. Later, I ordered a mojito at the bar which was made incorrectly with gin instead of rum. Despite the mistake, I was still charged €12 for a drink that bore no resemblance to what I had ordered. Our room was reasonably comfortable and the sea view was lovely. However, the bathroom was dated and in need of some refurbishment. Housekeeping was inconsistent throughout our stay: while the bed was made and bins emptied, little else was cleaned. Surfaces were left untouched, and on one occasion our room had still not been serviced by 2pm, which prompted us to complain. The main disappointment during our stay was the food. Across the two weeks, the choice was extremely limited, with the fruit offering almost exclusively melon and desserts very restricted. Unlike other hotels of similar rating, there was no variety or sense of abundance, which made mealtimes uninspiring. By the second week, we chose to dine out most evenings, at our own expense, simply to enjoy a better standard of food. Other aspects were also frustrating. Towels could only be exchanged at reception, which meant climbing a large number of stairs (despite a single lift being available). On our second attempt to change towels, we were told there were none available. Reception service was also unfriendly; one member of staff in particular came across as stern and unwelcoming. When we asked if we could swap our included evening meal on one day (as we would be out from early morning) for a lunch on our final day instead, the request was refused. This seemed inflexible and unaccommodating. In the restaurant, service was inconsistent. One waiter was particularly discourteous, often giving guests disapproving looks and only beginning to smile towards the very end of our stay. On a positive note, the evening bar was exceptional. The staff there were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely eager to please. The female bar manager in particular stood out — she went above and beyond for guests, was exceptionally friendly, and made fantastic cocktails. Her professionalism and warmth were a real highlight of our stay. In summary, while the location and sea view were enjoyable and the evening bar staff provided an excellent service, the overall experience was let down by poor food quality, limited choice, inconsistent cleaning, and unfriendly service elsewhere. For a hotel presenting itself as five-star, it fell far short of expectations, and we left feeling disappointed."

"My boyfriend and I spent a week here, stressful. As soon as we arrived at this "property," the taxi driver told us the place we'd indicated was closed. We were greeted by a mother and daughter, whose only English was spoken by her, and that was poor. We asked for information on where to rent a scooter; they couldn't answer until an hour and a half later, when we'd already made do. They couldn't accommodate our request for soap to clean the greasy cutlery, glasses, and plates in the room, which was covered in cobwebs and dust. We couldn't get any signal at all; they provided us with a Wi-Fi connection that didn't work. To access the network and search for our vacation, we had to go outside the property. The first time we showered, the hot water wasn't working. I called, and after a lot of misunderstandings and a wait, the water started to run and was hot. On the third day, I had to call the owners' number again, and a man answered (the father of this family who manages these three rooms, or rather, musty-smelling holes) muttering to me in Greek and hanging up on me. I called back and his daughter answered, so I was able to ask for clean towels. The towels arrived shortly after, brought by the mother and her daughter. At this point, they started demanding the €14 tourist tax, telling us we couldn't pay by card and that there couldn't be a receipt. This is where the chaos of our vacation began. Every day, upon returning to the property, they would knock on our door demanding money, disturbing our peace and privacy. We even went to the police to ask what we were supposed to do... Their response was very effective: you can't give money without a receipt. On another occasion, where they managed to disturb us for the umpteenth time, we told them for the thousandth time that we wouldn't pay without a receipt! We finally managed to pay the 14 euros, giving 15 without change. The receipt arrived the next day via email from a woman they introduced as the sister of this child's mother. There were too many disruptions to our peace of mind, and we couldn't even fully understand these individuals. A very negative experience!!! AVOID!!! THIS STRUCTURE DOES NOT CORRESPOND TO ANY OF THE PHOTOS YOU FIND ON WEBSITES OR ON GOOGLE."

"This is an exceptionally good hotel and we enjoyed it very much. It's the first time I've stayed in a hotel like this and the communal pool has been so quiet - absolutely zero stress about will we get a sun lounger. The hotel is so small and intimate you feel really well cared for and heard. Our room was beautiful and we enjoyed the breakfast and food in the restaurant - very good. We had a massage and facial too - both excellent. Really beautiful views also. Found all the staff to be really kind and helpful. A truly wonderful and relaxing place to stay and we will return. Only downside is I think the price point is quite high but that wouldn't stop me coming again. We hired a car which I would say is a must. We loved Dafnoudi Beach in the north, Assos, hiring a boat for the day and going to the volcanic beach and white rock beach and the underground lake caves."

"Currently staying at this resort, beautiful stunning location, unspoiled, natural beauty. Atmosphere is quiet, if you want relaxation this is the place. Some beautiful restaurants and beaches locally between 10/20 minutes away. Rooms are excellent, good size, very clean and stylish. Good TV with Netflix. Excellent staff, room cleaned thoroughly every day, staff even cleaned the dishes which we were not expecting. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Value, overall the holiday / accommodation is good value however the bar drinks, food and snacks in my opinion are very expensive 26 euros for x4 ice creams.. ! nothing special just your standard cornetto, I would not have purchased had I known at the time, I have paid much less in the centre of Italy for luxury homemade Italian ice cream. The drinks / food are also very expensive and unsure why? Surely more people would buy from here if the price was more reasonable? I would not purchase anything from the hotel again. The local vineyard is a real treat 5 euros for a glass of wine in a stunning location. Overall - stunning location, great beaches, beautiful vineyard and restaurants, hotel stylish , clean and relaxing, cost of snacks, drink and food at the hotel let it down slightly."

"I have never left a trip advisor review before but fair’s fair. When we first pulled up at Hotel Canale I was surprised to see three smartly dressed, smiling staff members waiting outside to greet us. Our bags were whisked off and we had a cocktail and a chat as we were checking in. The staff were happy to help us with recommendations for restaurants, trips, taxis and really friendly. It felt like a very personal service. The team give you the hotel WhatsApp number so if you want to book the beach, a restaurant or order a taxi you just WhatsApp them and they respond immediately. What a great idea! The room was spotless and maintained in that condition all week. Very modern and comfortable with a great view. When we went to the beach the staff took our beach towels in reception. New fresh beach towels were waiting for us on the bed. The breakfasts were amazing. Fresh, varied ( very) plentiful and cooked to order. The team remember what coffee, juices etc you like and after about the third day you don’t even have to ask. We have never been so well looked after at a hotel and we plan to go back. Thank you to all the team for making our holiday so special. Efkharisto and au revoir from Mark and Alison."

"We had the same experiences a lot of other people with the hotel not actually being ready yet. We managed to get a refund from travelodeal, it wasn’t easy but we did and kept our flights. We are now in Kefalonia at a different resort so yesterday we decided to investigate for ourselves. We started to enter the unfinished grounds which are easily accessible but must be surrounded by CCTV as we were soo accosted by the owners and site security. After explaining to the the issue with ourselves and many others they were keen to show us the issue they had and it was a problem with getting the water supply in and the utility contractors making a mess of it. They then offered to take us round the complex and to be quite honest we were taken aback with the beauty of it and attention to detail. The rooms are beautiful and the views from your bed ( yes the beds are in and waiting ) over the ocean are mind blowing. The water supply is now resolved and they are planning on opening in April/ may next year. It will definitely be worth the wait and the owners are desperate for some good feedback after all their issues. I do think a lot of responsibility lies with the lack of honesty from the tour operators."
