"My visit was average. Front desk person (AA male evening shift) was very pleasant. My room was okay however my sister's room was unpleasantly odorous with an unexpected portable humidifier in the room. We enjoyed our breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the waitress was very nice. The wedding food was just okay. The hotel needs to definitely upgrade overall."

"The view was nice. We could see the sunrise and there is a beach right in front. The room was clean without any bug. Breakfast was satisfying. Everything was fine except the wifi. My phone kept disconnecting, but the laptop had a good connection."

Welcome to our saltbox-style cottage in Kill Devil Hills — one of our favorite neighborhoods on the Outer Banks. We've thoughtfully outfitted this home with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
The cottage features quality touches throughout, from durable flooring to memory foam mattresses that are cleaned and encased for added peace of mind. Cleanliness is one of our top priorities, and we maintain a high standard we know our guests appreciate.

Neighborhood Highlights
You’ll love the location. The beach access is just 0.5 miles (about a 10-minute walk) from the house. On your way, you’ll pass Dunkin Donuts, Ashley’s Espresso Parlour (serving coffee, wine, and beer), and Mom’s Sweet Shop, a fun retail boutique and ice cream spot.
Also within walking distance are great local restaurants like Henry’s Restaurant, Two Roads Tavern, and Chili Peppers, along with Seagate North Shopping Center. For family fun, head to Paradise Golf & Arcade nearby, featuring mini golf, bumper cars, go-karts, and games.
To explore the sound side, use the nearby pedestrian crosswalk and enjoy the Bay Drive Multi-Use Path, a scenic 2.5-mile route perfect for biking or walking. Two public sound accesses are nearby:
The access to the right is walkable but has no parking.
The access to the left has a dock, gazebo, swimming area, and limited parking — a perfect sunset spot or kayak launch.
You can also bike to the Wright Brothers National Memorial, accessible via the back entrance off the airfield on W. First Street.

A little house located on West Avalon Drive on the sound side. Very popular location with many amenities such as a multi-purpose path along Bay Drive, the famous Front Porch Coffee Shop located just up the street, Boat launch on Bay Drive as well as the most beautiful sunsets the OBX has to offer. All of this and more on Bay Drive.
Across the road is the famous Avalon Fishing Pier.
Nearby grocery shopping can be found just a mile away. Food Lion, Publix, Target [coming soon - April 2023].
A full movie theater is located as well less than a mile from the house.
Wonderful food can be found just a short distance away: Awful Arthur's, Jolly Roger, Boat and Pony OBX and many other great places.
Putt Putt Golf and mini race cars are also close by.
Duck is only 15 minutes away and Corolla is 30 minute drive further down. Great location to see the infamous Corolla Wild Horses and take a tour.

When you are not at the beach you can enjoy the tennis courts or the pool. Our large deck, complete with deck furniture overlooks the community pool. The bike paths allow you to walk or ride along the sound and take in the beautiful sunsets. Amenities included are a well-stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, WIFI, games, and books. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is located at milepost 5.5 on a quiet non-through street, just a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach accesses at Sibbern Ave or Arch St. (0.2 mile).
The space
This is a classic but updated "beach box" style construction 3 bedroom 2 bath house located just three lots back from the ocean in Kill Devil Hills in a quiet, residential neighborhood near the end of a dead-end road.
Our cottage offers:
Ocean views from the living and dining areas and extensive deck space on multiple levels
Open concept living area with a fully stocked kitchen and large Hi-Def smart TV with Roku
High speed cable internet
Dining table seating for 6 and two additional stools at the bar/island.
Sliding glass doors from the living area open up to a large deck space with Adirondack seats for 6.
Large "crows nest " level with 180 degree ocean views and additional seating.
A gate at the entrance from the main level deck to so you don't have to worry about your furry friends wandering while you enjoy the space.
Bedrooms:
The master bedroom features a king-size bed, an en suite full bathroom, and a walk-in shower.
Second bedroom with a queen size bed
Third bedroom with a single bed and a set of (single) bunkbeds.
All bedrooms have smart TVs with streaming. (We do not have cable television.)
The second full bathroom is in the hallway, featuring a tub/shower combo.

This is a dog-friendly rental. While we and our cleaners are as thorough as possible, if you have pet allergies, this listing may not be suitable for you.
Dogs only - maximum of 2 dogs allowed. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your dog. Dogs must be house-trained, friendly (in case we need to access the house), up to date on flea meds and shots, and well-socialized. Dogs are not to be left alone unattended in the house uncrated for extended periods of time. Be sure to pick up after your dog in all areas and keep your dog off the furniture. If you have a "shedding" type breed, clean-up also means hair within reason. Failure to do so or any damage from your dog will result in an additional fee.
if you use the grill please clean it before departure for the next guests. Our cleaners do not clean grills. If you use the last of the propane in one of the tanks, please let us know or replace it.
If you break something, please replace it or let us know ahead of time so that we can be proactive for the next guests. We know accidents happen - just help us out!

Completely renovated ground level surf shack apartment located conveniently on the Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills yet literally a stone throw away from the Kitty Hawk line! View the surf and sand from inside your bungalow apartment kitchen & living rooms! Skip across the road to private beach access! Knotty pine throughout in this 1955 year old one of a kind space! Easy access to all the OBX has to offer!
The space
This space adopted a Green Turtle - Travel with Purpose when you stay with us and assist in global efforts to help save this beautiful endangered species! No steps to contend with! Covered porch and propane grill greet you at the entrance which leads into full size kitchen and dining area for four. Spacious living room with smart TV, large L-shaped leather couch! Two bedrooms with closets & ceiling fans plus your own controlled AC/Heat in every room! One king bed and one queen! One full bath with tiled shower!
Enough parking for 1 vehicle preferably.
If your group is larger then 4 there are two other spaces that are available to be rented separately! Inquire with your host if you are interested in these spaces as well!
Guest access
Everything in your space is for your enjoyment including the propane grill and outdoor hose at entrance. Inside is all yours except for the locked owners closet.
Other things to note
One bath towel, wash cloth, beach towel, and beach chair provided per person !
Private beach access for all Pelican guests is directly across from driveway.

You will be staying on the upper floor, accessible by two outside staircases. This delightful 2-bedroom house in Kill Devil Hills is perfect for your escape. With 2 queen beds and a large living room with a queen sofa bed and love seat, this welcoming property offers a tranquil retreat for guests. Bed linens and one set of towels for each guest during your stay. Full kitchen with large refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy the convenience of amenities like a washing machine, heating, WiFi, and AC during your stay. We hope you'll enjoy your stay at our house. Short walk to beach with lifeguard station.
