"The Grand Eastern is set around a lovely courtyard, the building is beautiful and the location is perfect. Unfortunately, the property is poorly maintained, plumbing is very weak, and cleanliness is not up to standards. While some staff members are helpful and friendly, other are plain rude. This place could be a gem but needs some effort from management and staff."

"Initially called hotel to make a booking but was told that no rooms were available. However, I was able to make a booking via Qantas Hotels, so go figure. Booking was for a couple and included breakfast. However room was dirty, only 1 bath towel was provided, there was no remote for the air conditioner and the TV did not work. And to top it all off, in the morning, was told by the rude staff that breakfast was not included. A totally dishonest establishment in Labasa, best avoiding."

"My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. It holds a lot of history this hotel. Its dining room with old photos was a nice touch to Fiji’s earlier days, giving it a warm ambience. The building itself is almost heritage like, a time piece that made me wonder who came here and so on. The outdoor space filled with beautiful plants and a pool, and lots of sitting space made it a chilled place to enjoy and relax. We stayed in their newest apartment deluxe room. It was clean and welcoming. The staff were very warm, friendly, helpful and polite throughout our stay. I would stay here again for it’s convenient location and comfortable room, and wonderful staff."
