"We enjoyed our stay at the Van Buren hotel. The room was very spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast had some variety and tasty. Good location. Only downside was no one told us we did not have any housekeeping if only staying 2 nights. So we had to hunt down housekeeping for fresh towels, cups, and coffee packets. Then housekeeping left an envelope “if we wanted to leave a tip.”"

This is a very comfy home made available for you to stay and relax! We have a nice fire place in the living room and a relaxing room with books for reading and a charcoal grill on patio out back. There are many adventurous things to do nearby. We are located in Amish country where there is always a lot going on and just minutes from the Michiana Event Center. Blue Gate Theater and Shipshewana Flee Market is nearby. There are many lakes near by and access to Kayaking down the pigeon river all this and more within 15 minutes. The Cozy Nest is an adorable three-bedroom, pet-friendly cottage with amazing views of a quiet, no-wake lake. There is a private, 4-person hot tub overlooking the lake. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for your use. Fiber optic wifi will keep you connected. There are a couple of bicycles available for exploring the surrounding countryside as well as a canoe, tandem kayak, and paddle boat to venture out on the water. Shipshewana is a quick 15-mile drive away.
Cedar Lake is great for fishing or enjoying the water. It isn't good swimming off our shore. But the views are amazing!
The main bedroom has a king-sized bed plus a day bed with a trundle. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a desk. The third bedroom has two twin beds.
The hot tub runs all year and accommodates four people.

You will be staying in the middle of Amish country& love the easy access to all the shops, food, tourism,and all that Shipshewana has to offer! You will be within walking distance to The Pumpkinvine Nature Trail with miles of trails for biking, walking,etc! This cozy cottage has access to Ship Lake which is a great fishing lake! The Living Room and Dining room are very spacious,open concept and an awesome place to hang out with your family and friends! Living room has Dish Tv with a 65” flatscreen to relax and watch a movie or the big game! The Kitchen has new stainless appliances and is stocked with utensils,small appliances like toaster,blender,hot water kettle,air fryer,pots pans etc! The main level Bedroom has a King bed with chest of drawers and a closet for your clothes. The Full Bath is right outside the Master Bath and is stocked with towels,washcloths! The back entrance serves as a mud room, and has a Washer and Dryer for your use should you need it. Going upstairs (side note,the upstairs was an add on so the stairs are narrow) you will have a landing room that has a Full bed and also a Sofa couch that easily flips out to a bed perfect for kids to sleep on. The landing room has a Flatscreen that also has Dish Tv so your kids can watch their own shows while you watch yours in the Living Room! The upstairs also has a Bedroom with a queen Bed! More sleeping options are available in the living room,the couches are pullout hide a beds! Close enough to enjoy all this small town has to offer and just a short drive back from a busy day at the shops where you can enjoy an evening relaxing under the large shade trees by the wishing well in the secluded back yard. From the front porch is a nice view of a neighboring farm and you can enjoy seeing the many amish buggies as they stroll by. If you have a sweet tooth, another perk is the cute little frozen custard /ice cream stand within walking distance of this cozy getaway.
Inside you will find wireless internet, dish tv with all your favorites, DVD/Blue Ray player, a gas log fireplace with comfy seating space to unwind after a long day as well as a cozy nook for reading or having that morning cup of coffee. A Keurig coffee machine highlights this bright full size kitchen stocked with all the dishes, pots and pans needed to prepare your favorite gourmet meal if you choose. The home is exclusively yours, without interruption for the duration of your stay, so relax, unwind, and make yourself at home. Depending on the length of your stay, someone may come and mow the lawn, but they will not bother you.

~~~As a quick disclaimer and note to potential guests, we are a FAMILY ORIENTED neighborhood. We are NOT a party house and have a strict 10pm - 7am noise rule. After 10pm our neighbors should not hear you. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PARTY and come and go all hours of the night, we are not a good fit for you. Rowdiness, excessive noise, loud music, etc. are all grounds for removal. Our neighbors are all families who have children. Please be considerate of them and respectful of this rule or you will be made to leave the property immediately.~~~
The home is exclusively yours, without interruption for the duration of your stay, so relax, unwind, and make yourself at home. Depending on the length of your stay, someone may come and mow the lawn, but they will not bother you.
All TVs: These Roku smart TV’s allow you to access your own streaming services (such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) as well as many built in channels. The living room TV also has local channels through our antenna.
To be respectful of the neighbors, please be mindful of noise levels between 10pm. to 7am. Plan your next getaway at our cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bath sunset cottage just footsteps from the shores of the South Twin Lake. Nestled deep in the quiet country setting of Howe, Indiana, it’s the perfect place to come if you’re looking to disconnect from the daily grind or spend some time with friends and family swimming, fishing or just relaxing.
Kickback in our sunroom with amazing waterfront views from every angle or lounge and unwind while watching the large flat screen TV in the living room. Internet is provided. The house is comfortably furnished and comes with an window a/c unit in the main living area and ceiling fans throughout the home to keep you cool in the warm months. With queen beds in each room and a sleeper sofa, the space sleeps up to 6 people. The kitchen comes fully loaded with basic kitchenware, dishes & silverware, a standard refrigerator & stove, as well as a microwave and coffee maker. Dine indoors at the kitchen table or al fresco on the porch. Enjoy brunch or grill up dinner overlooking the beautiful lake. The property also comes with 2 paddle boards included in the rental fee so you can cruise along the lake, or just relax on the shore and take in the incredible technicolored sunsets.
The Twin Lakes in Howe Indiana are considered to be some of the cleanest lakes in the entire state. This is a spring-fed, non-sport, private lake with no speed boats or jet-skis. While our lakeside cottage is remote, it’s only about 10 minutes from the 80-90 toll road. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis, Michigan where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, Dollar General and many restaurants.
Interested in exploring the area a bit? We are only 15 minutes away from Shipshewana Indiana, where you can get to know some of our Amish neighbors. Check out the Shipshewana flea market, enjoy some authentic homestyle Amish cooking, an afternoon carriage ride, or a show at the Blue Gate Theatre. We are also only an hour from Kalamazoo Michigan, Fort Wayne, Indiana and South Bend, Indiana. Check out our fighting Irish at Notre Dame.
