"We were so pleased we chose this hotel- we nearly changed our reservation because of poor experience at Ibis Styles in Angers. The Staff here were so friendly and helpful- excellent bicycle storage in their small secure underground car park- we could charge the ebikes here too. Nice quiet room with character and great breakfast. Hotel in centre of town. We felt the stay was great value and would recommend this one as a top choice for this town."

Vi var varmt välkomnade av Loik när vi kom och visade oss till vårt vackra rum.Du hittar dig omgiven av sådan historia och skönhet.Grundarna är stora och en stor promenad att göra, vi hade en underbar tid att utforska dem. Frukost var mycket bra och dagen vi lämnade mycket tidigt var Loik uppe med oss för att se till att vi hade allt vi behöver och hade också vår frukost.Så snäll och hjälpsam.Det här stället borde njuta av tid och tid igen."

"Sympatisk hem, vi känner oss som hemma. Rumet är stort, det finns två huvudbord, ett bord och flera stolar. En kock, koppar och glas. De l’espace pour la valise, une immense garderobe. Allt är möblerat och dekorerat med smak. I ingången hittar man en liten kylskåp och en mikrovågsugn. Badrummet har ett fönster, ett badrum och en stor tvättmaskin. Vi har sovit mycket bra, det finns rullspetsar vid varje fönster och man hör ingen ljud. Röda en gäng har väckt oss. Frukost serveras i en vacker veranda och baserad på hemprodukter: bröd, smör, konfektyrer, yaurts och kaka, varm dryck till valet. Om vi måste återvända till Castle-Gontier, kommer vi inte att tveka. Vi rekommenderar starkt."

"Having lived in the Mayenne for several years, it was easy to choose the Grand Hotel when we came back to visit friends. The location is super with an easy walk to bars, restaurants and shops, or for a stroll along the river. Our double room was spacious and bright, with a VERY comfortable bed, and good water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was fresh and well priced. There was a nice selection of cheeses, meats, bread, pastries, yogurt as well as hot scrambled eggs and bacon. The young family who own and manage the hotel have created a clean, friendly, professional and welcoming environment."

"Six friends in three cars on a short trip to Le Mans. The hotel was comfortable, the host were very accommodating and breakfast was very good. Hosts try very hard with customer service and nothing was a problem. Would def recommend and go back . Plus we went to a couple of local bars and had a great evening, suitably hung over the next morning but nothing too rash, just enjoying a Saturday night in the town centre, just a very short walk away."

"Stayed here while attending an event hosted by Dick and Angel Strawbridge at the nearby Chateau de la Motte Husson - it was on their list of recommended places to stay and what a lovely place it was. Staff were friendly and helpful - rooms were comfy and clean and even breakfast included. Tea and coffee and chilled water on free vend in the foyer. Close to the train station and walking distance to the river and old town. Would definitely come back"

"Much better management oversight of how this hotel operates is required if is to be somewhere where I would stay again. The room I was shown to had not been cleaned properly. Dust could be seen on all of the flat surfaces (you could write your name in it, it was that thick in places) and I couldn't put any of my clothes on the wardrobe shelves or coat hangers. In addition, there was black & red mould around the bath taps and shower screen areas. When I spoke to reception desk staff, I was offered another room. However this was in just the same unclean condition, I stayed where I was and cleaned the dust off myself! These are issues that should not be happening in any hotel, irrespective of the price it charges for its rooms and can easily be addressed if the hotel management walked around the property from time to time and check things over. This is obviously not happening here. No mention of these matters was made at check-our and no apologies on behalf of the management were proffered. Oh boy!!!!....never again."
