Tshukudu Game Lodge

"1. This is definitely not a 4-star lodge. The rooms are very outdated and cannot compete with other 4-star lodges in the area. 2. Our shower drain was blocked and resulted in water spilling all over the bathroom. 3. The room has a funny damp smell. 4. We got 1 water for 2 people. 5. The finer details are terribly unkept. l.e. the basin is stained, the carpets are torn, the ashtray is tacky, the toilet flusher is worn out and lost all its coating. 6. The rooms are separated by a door so you can hear everything from the other side (eeeek). 7. Breakfast juice is a juice mixture, no fresh juice. Coffee at the restaurant is only instant Jacobs coffee- no filter coffee or cappuccinos. 8. We paid for a 120min game drive, got a flat tyre, waited 25min for it to be changed and arrived back at the lodge first of all the vehicles. We received only 55mins of what we paid for. 9. 2 mins before we saw 4 lions, we were told to get off the game vehicle for the ranger to change the tyre. No precautions, no warnings, no “in case of emergency do this”. 10. The signal is terrible and so is the wifi!! My husband needs access to reliable wifi for his work (24/7) and couldn't reach anyone. We ended up leaving before 9 just so he could be reached. I really am sorry to say this but this is far from a 4-star experience."

"Located in Pridelands Conservancy a private reserve bordering Greater Kruger. We were fortunate to witness giraffes in the driveway in the early morning and late night. Our group went on 5 early morning and late afternoon Game drives (Safari’s) the two guides assigned to take us out were knowledgeable and friendly. Lodge staff were friendly and attentive, preparing breakfast for us daily and taking care of our housekeeping needs. Our group of nine had excellent accommodations in the four private stand alone rooms. Each suite was comfortable and the private outdoor showers added to the unique experience. The fully functional kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas including an unforgettable Braai provided an ideal environment for our group to enjoy and celebrate our time together in South Africa. Our thanks to Anton and Simeone and their team for their incredible hospitality and dedication to the preservation of the ecosystem."

"It is difficult to give these b and b a good assessment because it has many pluss, but also memories. The cottages are very fun to see and are located in a beautiful garden in a just as beautiful citrus area near the blyde river. The bed is fine, despite the large cave. Furthermore, there is a refrigerator, TV and water cooker available. Wi-Fi is fine. The difficult thing is that he is in the maintenance of the houses, in short, a lot of late maintenance. As the wet part, where the calf falls on all sides of the wall, where the washing table is no longer clean and where the toilet glasses had to be replaced in the last century, so unfortunately, because it has certainly a great deal of potential. Take into account that it is far from the centre, but that is a choice."

"Such a cute spot! The photos really dont do it justice! The staff is all lovely, the breakfast was fantastic (thank you Innocence!!) theres a very cute little Jack Russel who welcomes you, the rooms are big, clean and all over lovely. Our room had a small deck with a big family of warthog living under it!! So cute and they didn't mind us being around them at all. Whats also amazing is that this lodge is in a private wildlife Estate with no predators meaning during the day you can walk through the bush (which the property backs on to) and see wild animals in safety! (Just no walking after dark as there are hyenas about). Overall a great stay, super friendly people, lovely animal spotting. 10/10 wish we had stayed an extra day."
