"It was a pleasant surprise to stay in a room that was one the original ‘museum rooms’. The furniture and the flooring were well preserved in the style of 1952- which we loved . Spacious the authentic art deco feel for us who grew up in the 70s/80s. We had a sea view from the side of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent in terms of choices of food and had a beautiful view ,on looking Capri and the bay of Naples! The staff were generous with their time and payed attention to details- rare for a 4* hotel. You can walk to the historic sites along the sea in 10-15mins. There were a lot of very good restaurants, both serving excellent seafood and pizza. Be wary of the taxis, ask for the meter to be put on or get a quote before you jump in!!! Quick access to the port by car, or walkable- give yourself 25 mins, if you are thinking of going to Capri or Sorrento."

"The hotel itself is historic, and the interior hardware has been renovated and is very modern, but the standard room part does not have a window (we were assigned room 302 when we checked in). The hotel's official website only shows pictures with windows, which is not Ctrip's fault. Ctrip customer service confirmed with the front desk that there was no window and compensated us 20% of the room fee within five minutes. The rooftop breakfast view is good, but the food quality is not good, and there are a lot of flies. The Italian service staff was lukewarm to us, a kind of politeness to keep a distance. Historical place with renovated modern interior. The standard king room doesn’t necessarily come with a window, which is not mentioned at all on hotel website. We enjoyed the rooftop view for breakfast but food itself is below standard. Service is ok."

"This is the best you can imagine in Naples, to be in its very center, a step away from the Royal Palace and the San Carlo Opera. A small hotel, converted from a huge apartment, is located on the 4th floor of the Umberto 1 Gallery, built in the late 19th century. You need to enter through the arch from the side of Via Toledo. The door to the entrance is on the left. The ancient staircase is equipped with an elevator. The owner is friendly, very nice, he was waiting for us, but we realized that it would be better to inform in advance about the time of our arrival, since he is not there constantly, but only placed and gave us the keys and a coupon for food in the cafe under our room, we did not see him anymore. The 4 m high rooms have preserved authentic doors and windows, Mettlach floor tiles, stucco cornices of the ceilings. The French balcony of our room with huge arched windows looked directly into the space of a cross-shaped gallery, covered with a high glass roof. Everything in the room is very clean, new. We are happy that we settled so conveniently and close to the opera house we came to."
