"Amazing Inn, in old historical courtyard house. The family were lovely and presented me with tea and a lovely gift basket of fruit and snacks on arrival. English was limited. When I arrived the Inn keeper helped me set up the Inn as a friend in We chat and we both were able to use this to communicate anything complicated. He also had some details about the facilities and area written out in English. So language was never an issue. The courtyard house was very old, the room was tastfully very modern blending old and new. The Chinese breakfast was delicious. It is very centrally located just off the main tourist street in Pingyao. The Inn keeper also dropped me back to the train station for a small fee, which was very convenient."

"Had a wonderful trip! Booked the hotel through Trip.com, and they sent a car to pick us up from the high-speed train station. There's also a shuttle service to and from the scenic area. All the hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. When checking out, they even gave us a souvenir and drove us back to the high-speed train station. Full marks, I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"The hotel is full of the style of the Republic of China. Being in it, you feel like traveling through time. If you like cheongsam, you can wear a cheongsam and take a beautiful photo. The room is spacious and elegant and classical. The breakfast is rich, with both Chinese and Western food, which can satisfy the taste buds. The price of lunch and dinner is moderate, the tableware is disinfected, clean and hygienic, and there are various cuisines. The taste is good and worth trying. The large-scale live performance "See Pingyao Again" is near the hotel, only about 5 minutes walk."

"Conveniently located about 100m from the main street in the ancient city and the South gate tower. The room was beautifully appointed in a traditional manner with lovely Chinese objet d’art, and matched their online pictures. We were picked up and dropped off from the train station, and our daily breakfast bento box was interesting, generous and delicious. There was also wontons or noodles, coffee, juice and yoghurt. The staff looked after us well."

"We added Pingyao Ancient City to our itinerary at the last minute, but all the decent guesthouses were booked. We were also a bit worried about the hygiene of guesthouses, so we ultimately chose the chain hotel Atour. We heard it officially opened on May 1st, so we were probably among the first guests to stay in our rooms. All the rooms were on the second floor, and there was a slight odor, so they immediately provided each room with an air purifier. The Atour bedding was, needless to say, all Atour Planet brand, very comfortable. Breakfast: The restaurant was small, but the selection was comprehensive. The food quality was also very good. The ambiance is excellent, see the pictures."

"I absolutely loved this courtyard. The owner has both cats and dogs, and they're all very friendly. I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. They upgraded my room for free, and the room was fully equipped. As soon as I arrived, the owner gave me a map and clearly marked all the attractions in the ancient city. The courtyard is located near the West Gate, so it's easy to find. I hope there will be more affordable guesthouses like this on my travels."
