"The hotel is in a very convenient location: 10 minutes walk from the train station, on the embankment. It was not indicated anywhere, so I will write that there is a mini-fridge in the room (water in it is paid, but you can not take it, and use the refrigerator). The bathroom, as we say, is separate. Nearby is an intersection with a roundabout, it is noisy with the windows open, but quiet at night."

"Loved this place! The two owners Marco & Filippo (and their two Bassett hounds Zoe & Poldo) were very welcoming. Very good English and very easy conversationalists on everything (that's Marco & Filippo, not the dogs!) The room was not the biggest in the world, but perfectly adequate with comfortable beds, small fridge, coffee machine, good in room wifi. Breakfast was a plentiful mix of cereal, cold cuts, pastries and excellent coffee. Less than 5 minutes walk from the train/bus station and some great local bars and restaurants nearby. Buses to Genoa hourly and to Santa Margharita (for Portofino) every 30 mins or so. Highly recommended"

"Hotel Riviera is in a wonderful location; as close to the water as you can get. It had parking out front so we didn't have to walk far and it was free. The staff was lovely and made us feel very welcomed. The breakfast was wonderful and the dining area had a wonderful view of the water. Although the rooms were simple, they were spacious by European standards and very clean. I would stay there again."

This unnecessary delay caused me to miss my scheduled train. For a hotel of this level, basic services like printing should be handled more promptly and efficiently. Room has no sound proof."

"The reviews here don't lie. My experience matched what others here have said already. Lovely hotel. The room is very comfortable and clean. Quick 7 minutes walk from the train station. But beyond the lodging, it's the small touches and human connection make a difference, and this hotel gets a 10/10 for that. Very gracious hosts and super friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They even surprised me with a birthday gift for me and for that they get an A++. As if that was not enough the host custom made coffee for me. The only minor negative are the smelly dogs in the common area. I'm very sensitive to smell so this slightly bothered me, but dogs were very well behaved (I love dogs but these won't be ones I will go close to for reasons I mentioned). The good news is that you can totally avoid that minor annoyance if it bothers you too: the rooms / bathroom actually smelled good & dog allergen free. "
