"Shaoxing is so undervalued in the Jiannan area. If you can tolerate the scent of stinky tofu, you would enjoy the leisure time at Shaoxing.
This holiday inn located in the old town area is by the side of water channel within 2min of walks to the stone streets. Perfect location for citywalkers.
Their friendly staffs, Dongzhi, Qiufen and Jingzhe will help you to pick up your luggage and communicate with you through WeChat (the Chinese version of WhatsApp).
We will come back to this place in the future.
BTW. Their cat, namely Rich, is friendly and lovely too. Purring and squeezing eyes to travelers is her special talent! 🥰"

"The service was excellent and exceeded the expectations. We were able to check in earlier and got an upgraded room. The breakfast buffet had lots of food options with decent quality. The hotel location is convenient to all places where we planned to visit. A special thanks to Mr. Feng, who helped us to carry the luggage. We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Chinese garden style resort."

"It is a wonderful stay at shaoxing where the hotel is situation a stone throw away from the metro. What's more, it is walking distance away from attractions around town. There was also a projector in our room where we had a great sing-along to the songs."

"Highly recommended this hotel. The hotel is located in the city centre and convinces to the tourists. The room itself is clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet provides many options including western style and Chinese style, also available for local cuisine. "Cleanliness is very important to me, and this hotel was wonderfully clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My checkout was originally at 12 p.m., but since my flight wasn’t until 9 p.m., I asked at the reception if I could stay in my room until 2 p.m. It was no problem at all. Afterwards, I was able to leave my luggage in the lobby.
After a few hours of exploring the city, I came back to the hotel in the afternoon. At the entrance, there was complimentary coffee and tea for guests, and I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee there. I stayed at the hotel until around 6 p.m. and felt very comfortable the entire time.
The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast. The selection was quite large, but it was mostly local-style food. It would be great if there were more Western or international options for guests. There is a beautiful lake near the hotel.
Overall, my stay was very pleasant – a clean hotel with friendly staff and good service. I would definitely stay here again!"

"This hotel is situated in an area where public transportation systems, i.e., bus, metro, and railway stations are easily accessible. The front desk personnel are professional, polite, and capable. The tea bags provided for the room are surprisingly the best I have ever had during my 2-week trip in China this time. I am also impressed by the books available in the reading room."

"Grand House Shaoxing was an 4000 years old village which had an ancient history, villagers surname Si (姒）were Dayu‘s (大禹)tomb guards for thousands of years.
Now it is as a beautiful hotel with a lot of amenities ! Breakfast had many local specialties were very delicious ! It’s also had a big restaurant and wedding banquet hall ! Room is beautiful as in my photos.
Hotel located only 4 KM from city centre, as taxi only cost less A$7. We stayed 3 nights, enjoyed peaceful country life, also the very busy tourist spot !
I must mention all the stuff in the hotel are so helpful, specially the young man who greeted us on arrival in the rain at night, helping us changed room because I can’t get to upstairs loft !
I hope more tourists visit Shaoxing and stay in this hotel, because it is a totally different experience from big city like Shanghai or Beijing, and you will not regret it."
