Mezzanine Tulum, a Small Luxury Hotel

"I spent four nights at the gorgeous Mezzanine Tulum, unwinding from a busy schedule. My sea view room overlooked the ocean, and I spent my evenings falling asleep to the crashing waves. The property was quiet, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my stay was special—even telling me about their Mayan heritage, and helping me practice my Spanish. Everyone had a smile on their face and everyone was very kind, especially the front desk staff and servers. When it comes to food, I think breakfast is this hotel’s speciality, with fresh juices and healthy options. I enjoyed the vegetarian options for dinner, and would have liked more salads to choose from. Their sister property Mi Amor was a dream to spend the day at lounging in the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. I visited the spa twice where Adé took very good care of me, and will definitely be back!"

"If I have the chance to return to Tulum, I will still choose to stay here. Not only is it conveniently located, but it also has a superb location, especially with a panoramic terrace on the top floor where you can see the perfect sunrise over the Mayan ruins and jungle. There's also a really delicious ice cream shop downstairs."

"Beautiful hotel!!! This hotel is soo beautiful. The owner takes so much time to keep it looking amazing. The owner would greet us and always check in which was really nice when we came in. The rooms are just simple and classic. Honestly one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen. It’s like a jungle with all the hidden gems everywhere. The roof is really nice and always has a great breeze. I would recommend this to friends and family in a heart beat. There is a cafe/restaurant attached below the hotel which has amazing owner/staff and the food is insanely good! Good coffee and good food! Honestly so happy we didn’t book a resort style place. This was so much better!"

"The landlord is very nice. It's not bad. It's just that we had difficulty checking in. The landlord fell asleep and we waited outside for a long time. The two girls were a bit dangerous to be honest. The taxi driver and the police behind us helped us wake up the landlord hahahaha"

Ikal Tulum Hotel

"I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of sleeping so close to nature and having a treehouse. However, I wasn't aware the hotel was directly inside the national park. When we arrived, guards gave a difficult time to our driver to be able to drop us off, even though it is a 50 minute walk to the location. They expected us to pay daily park fees even though we weren't using the park. There was only one highly over priced restaurant at the site, no shops for food, and no hot water available. I was able to make a coffee in my first day, but the service desk staff told me one free coffee for my booking, not one for each day stayed. Given the cost of this hotel, it offers no services. It does have an enjoyable environment, but bring your own food and your own supplies. This was 1 of our 2 rentals and both had the same issues."

"I wouldn’t return to Vida Silvestre. The air conditioner couldn’t balance the temperature—downstairs was unbearably hot, while upstairs was freezing. There was constant noise from the bathroom, and basic amenities like a TV were missing. It was so bad that my family and I left after the first night. When I explained why I could no longer stay, I was simply told it was non-refundable. For the price of staying here, you’d think there would be a way to access the beach across the street, but there wasn’t. Beware of the refund policy—this experience was disappointing."
