"Unfortunately, there was a big problem with the fireplace. In the hour that I was able to sit down (because I assumed it was something temporary), I found that the entire 1st floor had a big problem, since it was leaking smoke! When I asked the hotel if there was another room that wasn't leaking, the answer was negative, and the reason for the problem was that it was leaking because "wind is blowing and we can't do anything about it"!!!! Unfortunately for the hotel managers, I work for a technical company and have (also) worked on chimney installations. Therefore, I know that when the chimney is leaking smoke, it's not the wind's fault! Quite simply, either the construction is wrong or the chimney has not been maintained. Too bad, because the place seemed to be about the same as the photos, even if the room (triple) needed a renovation, while the tavern outside looked amazing. I say it seemed because I didn't sit down to eat, of course. Finally, the manager, in addition to writing me down in a place where ink doesn't get caught in my remarks about the tobacco, almost shouted at me (classic behavior of a Greek "businessman" when he doesn't need the customer) because I told him that I would delay leaving a little until I found another place to stay. And because I didn't want to "poison" (literally, because I have respiratory problems, and figuratively) my vacation any more, I got up and left. My "poisoning" cost me an overnight stay, as is also provided for by the hotel's policy. I was expecting something better because of the inconvenience, since I finally found somewhere to stay in the afternoon, and not in the mountains of course, but we said, it was August 15th and they didn't need us, so..."

"The hotel is conveniently located, about a 10 minute walk from the port. The room is small but clean and tidy. Breakfast is good, and the view is excellent. I booked a sea-view room, which indeed offers a nice sea view, but it is also next to the road, so it can be a bit noisy at night."

"Ett trevligt, rent rum, men mörkt nog, det fanns inget ljus i spegeln för att se vad du bär, en mycket rik frukost med handgjorda varor och en mycket snäll och hjälpsam personal. I spaen, stor uppmärksamhet på stegen i poolen glidde för mycket, lyckligtvis höll jag och träffade inte.I en kommentar svarade personalen på det de vet att vi har informerat.!!! Ett trevligt mottagningsområde med en brandplats på eld samt i frukostrummet.Sidan säger välkomstdrycker vi aldrig sett!!"

"Receptionspersonalen var besvikligen oprofessionell och otäck.Det är verkligen ett 1-star hotell och är inte ens billigt.Dåligt förhållande mellan kvalitet och pris; det var mycket dyrt på grund av sin dåliga service, lilla gamla badrum, konstig lukt och brist på ljudisolation. Du kan höra buller från gatan och de andra rummen.Det finns ingen hiss, så du behöver klättra trappan med din bagage utan hjälp från personalen. Receptionisterna gjorde inga ansträngningar för att tillgodose våra behov och de är uppenbarligen olämpliga för gästfrihetsverksamheten.Det finns långt bättre alternativ i staden till samma pris av högre kvalitet.För oss var det en nöduppehållning på bara två nätter. Kan inte stanna längre.Värder 15 EUR per natt; inte 65."

"We stayed in Room 601, not a bad view, of this small hotel, right in the middle of town, walking distance to waterfront. Room was very clean and modern, with a good shower, and few toiletries. We did find the bed a bit small though and we are not tall people. The buffet breakfast was quite traditional and very nice. Would stay her again and recommend."

"The Palio Eleotrivio guesthouse is in a beautiful setting with wonderful views set within the exquisite village of Agios Lavrentios. The rooms and shared areas in the guesthouse are very tastefully decorated and very well maintained. It is a great setting for quiet contemplation. The breakfasts are very good quality and the customer service is excellent. We will certainly be returning. Tips - The tavernas in the village square provide excellent value evening meals. - The local bakery (also on the square) is wonderful and the staff there are very helpful. - It is possible to get to Agios Lavrentios by bus from Volos (details available on line but I can't provide a link as Trip Advisor does not allow this). - Some reviews have said finding the guesthouse is difficult - I disagree. If driving or arriving by taxi take the turning on the right about 1km before you reach the village. - Be careful if you go hiking. Get a decent map, carry a robust stick, hike with someone if at all possible and be careful if you are near any pens of goats/sheep. There are wild dogs in the mountains."
